By the Numbers is a Sunday NBA picks column where we analyze matchups, historical trends and the prevailing odds that correspond with them. Let's take a look at two of our top picks on Sunday and keep cashing those tickets.

Magic (13-32 SU, 18-26-1 ATS) vs. Celtics (34-12 SU, 27-17-2 ATS)

Free NBA Pick: Celtics -10Best Line Offered: Pinnacle

* Boston is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight up loss.

* Boston is 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games.

* Boston is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss.

* Orlando is 14-36-2 ATS in their last 52 games following an ATS win.

* Orlando is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games as a road underdog.

* Orlando is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

We believe we are getting value in this game from the NBA odds makers despite the fact that we are on the chalky home favorite. The reason this line isn't even higher is because the Magic defeated the heavily favored Timberwolves 108-102 as 8½ point home underdogs on Tuesday night then followed that up with a down-to-the-wire 104-103 loss to the Cavaliers in Cleveland as 11½ point road dogs. Oh, and Orlando has covered five of their last six while their opponents, the Boston Celtics, have lost their last two straight up and have failed to cover in three of their last four.

Clearly, the public will have all of this in mind when they make their NBA picks in this matchup which is why the odds aren't quite as lofty as we anticipated on arguably the best team in the East. We like the Green here as they are 5-0 straight up and 4-1 ATS against the Magic over their last five meetings. In their last go-round, Boston destroyed Orlando 104-88 as 3½ point road favorites and have the motivation, after two consecutive losses, to do it all over again to a Magic team that will be spent after coming so close to upending King James and the Cavs.

Nets (17-29 SU, 28-17-1 ATS) vs. Pistons (22-22 SU, 24-18-2 ATS)

Free NBA Pick: Brooklyn +6Best Line Offered: Pinnacle

* Detroit is 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning percentage below .400.

* Detroit is 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a favorite.

* Detroit is 2-7 ATS in their last nine games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

* Brooklyn is 6-2 ATS in their last eight Sunday games.

* Brooklyn is 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following an ATS win.

* Brooklyn is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

The Nets are 3-2 straight up and 4-1 against the number in their last five meetings with the Pistons. However, 10 days ago, when last these teams met, the Piston blasted the Nets out of their own building in a 114-80 dismantling of Brooklyn. Tonight won't be a repeat of that aberration as Brooklyn is no longer the laughingstock they once were and this team is talented enough to take those humiliations personally.

Brooklyn is certainly not a playoff contender yet but they are no longer cellar dwellers either. The Pistons, on the other hand, are pretty much what they have been over the last several years, which is a team that hovers near .500 and is on the outside looking in of the postseason. The last meeting between these clubs was the rare exception rather than the rule so don't let it scare you and net the Nets on Sunday!
