It's a small slate of hoops action today but that doesn't mean we don't have a pair of golden opportunities to cash in our NBA picks. Let's analyze our two top sides and deliver more winners!

Heat (6-6 SU, 4-6-2 ATS) vs. Pistons (9-3 SU, 8-3-1 ATS)

* Detroit is 7-1 ATS in their last eight Sunday games.

* Detroit is 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5.

* Detroit is 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS loss.

* Miami is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Sunday games.

* Miami is 0-5 ATS in their last five games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

* Miami is 2-5-2 ATS in their last nine when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.

Miami is wrapping up their six-game road trip to Motown tonight and hoping to emerge with their fourth win on the highway. But it won't be easy as the Heat have recently struggled against the Pistons on their home court, at least from a bettor's perspective, covering the NBA odds in only one of their last six meetings in Detroit. This should be more of the same as Miami's success is rooted in their defense, allowing just 102.3 PPG while scoring an average of only 101.8 points per game. On the flipside, the Pistons have been averaging 106.1 PPG and allowing 101.1 PPG which is even better than Miami's No. 8 ranked defense. The Heat are also coming off a big win over the Jazz as two-point road dogs on Friday night and could very well experience a letdown before they fly home to South Beach.

The home team is 8-3 ATS over the last 11 meetings between these clubs and the Pistons have been on absolute fire, winning seven of their last eight and covering the spread in all but two of those games. Let's lay the small number and back Detroit in our NBA picks on Sunday.

Rockets (10-3 SU, 7-6 ATS) vs. Pacers (6-7 SU, 7-6 ATS)

* Indiana is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 Sunday games.

* Indiana is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

* Indiana is 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following an ATS win.

* Houston is 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games as a favorite.

* Houston is  5-13 ATS in their last 18 games following an ATS win.

* Houston is 0-4 ATS in their last four games playing on zero day's rest.

The Pacers snapped out of a four-game funk with a dominating performance over the Bulls on Friday night. Indiana traveled to the Windy City as 3 ½ point road chalk and flew out with a 105-87 victory. Although Indiana has not experienced the same level of success in recent years as their opponents tonight, it should be noted that the Pacers are 3-1 both straight up and ATS versus Houston over the last three seasons.

We are going to stick with the trends and the little bit of momentum the Pacers have after their double-digit win Friday night. In addition, the Rockets are flying directly to Indiana after their win in Memphis last night and are 0-4 ATS in the second leg of back-to-back contests. Let's back the home dog in this one and cash a ticket!
