Raptors (16-7 SU, 11-11-1 ATS) vs. Kings (8-17 SU, 13-10-2 ATS)

* Sacramento is 3-0-1 ATS in their last four after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Sacramento is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win.

* Sacramento is 5-1 ATS in their last six games as an underdog.

* Sacramento is 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

* Toronto is 4-5 ATS after scoring 115 points or more in their previous game.

* Toronto is 14-19 ATS over their last 33 Sunday games.

* Toronto is 15-17 ATS in their last 32 December games.

The Sacramento Kings won't be competing for a championship anytime soon and the NBA odds are reflecting as much as Sacramento is getting 7 ½ points at their own home court. But the team they are facing happens to be one of the best the Eastern Conference has to offer and one that is in the midst of a five-game winning streak. So why do we like the underdog Kings against a juggernaut like the Raptors? Let's have at it.

First and foremost, the Kings match up well against the Raptors. Sacramento is 4-0 straight up and against the spread over their last four meetings with Toronto. Secondly, the Kings have been competitive lately, having covered their last three games and scored perhaps their biggest win of the season on Friday night when they notched a 116-109 upset over the Pelicans down on the bayou as 9 ½ point road dogs.

Sacramento's opponents on Sunday have been winning but that doesn't mean they have been covering. The Raptors have covered in just three of their last seven games but they have been scoring in bunches. The problem is that they have been surrendering points just as prolifically. The Kings don't do much very well but they hold their own on defense. Sacramento is ranked 15th in the league in points allowed, surrendering an average of 105.6 PPG which is just a click below the Raptors 14th ranked defense, holding opponents to 104.2 PPG.

Sacramento will be back home after a four-game road trip while Toronto will make a stop in Sacramento as their second of four on the highway. The Kings are not only buoyed by a huge win but get to return home and face a team that they have fared well against in the past. Back the Sac in your NBA picks.
