By the Numbers is back at it with our Sunday NBA column featuring two of our two top selections based on game time matchups, historical trends and the value rendered by the NBA odds. Let's see which teams give us the best chance at fattening our wallets.

Spurs (4-1 SU, 3-1-1 ATS) vs. Pacers (2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS)

* Indiana is 4-1 ATS in their last five games as an underdog of 5.0-10.5.

* Indiana is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600.

* Indiana is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.

* San Antonio is 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight up loss.

* San Antonio is 0-4 ATS in their last four after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* San Antonio is 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a road favorite of 5.0-10.5.

Pacers' center Myles Turner will miss his fifth consecutive game due to a concussion but the tandem of Domantis Sabonis and Al Jefferson has done enough in his stead to keep Indiana competitive down low. Kawhi Leonard of the Spurs remains sidelined with a quad injury and now San Antonio's backup center Joffrey Lauvergne will miss his third straight game with an ankle injury.

Despite the Spurs 4-1 record, this season's edition is not the same threat, without Kawhi Leonard. The Pacers are 2-0 ATS versus the Spurs in their last two meetings in Indiana and are 3-1 ATS in their last four meetings overall. The Pacers are coming home after going 2-1 ATS on their three-game road trip and have had three full days of rest and relaxation to prepare for tonight's contest while the Spurs are on the third leg of a four-game road trip. Let's back the Pacers in our NBA picks and grab the generous head start that the NBA odds makers are giving us.

Nuggets (2-3 SU, 1-4 ATS) vs. Nets (3-3 SU, 4-2 ATS)

* Brooklyn is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up loss.

* Brooklyn is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

* Brooklyn is 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games.

* Denver is 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a favorite.

* Denver is 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite of 0.5-4.5

* Denver is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on one day's rest.

It appears as though the Nets are finally poised to be anything but a laughingstock this season. Brooklyn has rewarded their backers, covering four of their six first games this season, and should be able to continue that return on investment again tonight. Brooklyn's DeMarre Carroll looks doubtful for this matchup but we will stay the course and let the numbers do the talking. Even when the Nets fielded a less impressive squad than this season's iteration, they wound up not only covering but winning three of their last four against the Nuggets. We say they do it again but we'll grab the points anyway and back another home dog on Sunday.
