Milwaukee won only 44 games last season and they have been given a season win total of 48 from Bovada. However, the smart bet might be Giannis Antetokounmpo to win MVP at +400.

Milwaukee Bucks Preview

Free NBA Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo to win MVP +400

Best Line Offered: Bovada

2017-18 Record: 44-38
2017-18 ATS Record: 39-45-5
2018-19 Season Win Total (Bovada): 48
Odds To Make Playoffs (Bovada): -1000
Odds To Win Division (BetOnline): +125
Odds To Win Eastern Conference (BetOnline): +2000
Odds To Win NBA Championship (BetOnline): +10000

The Bucks are one of the bigger wild cards in the Eastern Conference this season. The Celtics, Raptors, and 76ers are the three favorites, and the Pacers have a talented and deep roster, but the Bucks could upset them all if the Greek Freak has a huge season.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo win the #NBA MVP award this season?

He's at 5/1.

Bet: https://t.co/9zrUTwFNNO pic.twitter.com/dPyHkbJaIC
— 888sport (@888sport) October 10, 2018
\n\n"}[/]

ATS Outlook

Last season the Bucks weren’t anything to write home about ATS. In fact, since 2015 fading the Bucks in every one of their games would have been pretty profitable. Milwaukee is 112-141-6 ATS (44.3%) since 2015, and there is little chance they are that much less overvalued this season ATS.

However, the one sharp bet on this team outside of the potentially winning the division is Giannis Antetokounmpo's MVP odds. Outside of LeBron James at +350, the Greek Freak at 4/1 is tied with Anthony Davis to win the MVP. Last season James Harden was the easy MVP, but with a potentially healthy Chris Paul all year, and the addition of Carmelo Anthony, Harden has fallen to +650 to win the MVP in 2018-19. LeBron is now in the West and his team likely won’t be good enough for him to compete for the MVP.

That leaves Davis and Antetokounmpo as the clear favorites in my eyes. If either the Pelicans or Bucks overperform and end up as a top three or four team in their conferences, they both would be atop the MVP odds. It’s going to be much easier for the Bucks to overperform in the East than it will be for the Pelicans out West.

How Can They Dethrone The Warriors?

The Greek Freak is a top-five player in the league, and with him the Bucks could make a run at the Eastern Conference finals. They have the same group of studs this season with Khris Middleton healthy and Eric Bledsoe in a nice position.

If they can get breakout years from Thon Maker or Malcom Brogdon, along with big contributions from their veteran signings of Brook Lopez and Ersan Ilyasova, the Bucks have a great shot at getting to the East finals. Outside of that, though, I think that’s the ceiling for this team as currently constructed. There are a ton of trade possibilities for the Bucks, though, so adding another scorer or big man could also be in the cards.

However, at 20/1 the longshot odds of the Bucks to win the East are a little too much of a risk at this point. Take Antetokounmpo’s MVP odds instead.
