Can Bulls get the job done in game 5 or will this series extend to the unlikely game 6? Here's our NBA betting preview complete with NBA picks for your playoff betting thrills.

Milwaukee Bucks (1-3, 0-2 away)
It took a monumental effort by the Milwaukee Bucks to stave off elimination in the NBA playoffs at the weekend. And a narrow win, no less, as the Bucks edged the Bulls 92-90 in dramatic fashion, thanks to a last-gasp layup at the buzzer by Jerryd Bayless that lifted the Bucks to victory. And so they get to live another day.

Consider the circumstances, the obvious question making the rounds in NBA betting circles is whether the Bucks have only managed to delay the inevitable. If the NBA odds were any indication, the resounding answer is 'yes'.

As it is, they enter game 5 at the United Center as the whopping +325 underdogs to win straight up and the large 8.5-point road pups.

Chicago Bulls (3-1, 2-0 home)
What a wasted opportunity by the Bulls in game 4 to not only sweep the series but also gain valuable rest before facing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the next round of the NBA Playoffs. Yup, that's the overriding assumption in NBA betting circles: advancement by the Bulls is only a matter of time.

Time is a valuable commodity when the prospect of one the of the top faves to win the NBA Championships this season looms on the horizon. The Cavs are trading at +250 NBA odds on the NBA Championships odds board, second faves after Golden State Warriors leapfrogged to +190 NBA odds. Therefore, the pressure on the Bulls to get the job done in game 5 is going to be immense.

It's going to be important that the Bulls don't suffer another late-game collapse and allow the Bucks back into it. Fortunately, home form is encouraging. As well, they are 5-0 SU and ATS against the Bucks in their last five home games.

Predictably, the Bulls go into the United Center tonight as the prohibitive betting faves, matched at -425 to win outright and as the 8.5-point home chalk. Clearly, the odds makers are buying what they are selling, brushing aside game 4 as a mere hiccup. A blip. Nothing to cause concern or demand a rethink on the overarching outlook of this series.

NBA Betting Verdict
The Bucks needed a bit of heroics and some luck to get into the win column against the Bulls. Take nothing away from them and their win in game 4. However, it's hard to imagine they would pull off the feat again in game 5 when they resume hostilities with the Bulls. Appropriately, they are the long shots on the NBA betting board and, in turn, the long shot NBA pick.

On occasion, we do recommend taking a chance on a seemingly hallucinatory bet. In this case, we just don't see it happening. We could be wrong, obviously. We don't have a crystal ball after all.

In any event, we thought the Bulls would get the job done in game 4. We were wrong. Nobody told us they forgot their brooms. But we're sticking to our NBA pick from game 4 and taking the Bulls to get the job done in game 5.
