So here we are, Game 7 between the Bucks and the Celtics, with both teams winning outright on their home courts and the Celtics covering the number in all of their home victories. The Celtics will be happy to return to the familiar confines of the TD Garden after failing to notch a win in Milwaukee and getting shut down in their last game Thursday night when they fell 97-86 in a defensive battle. Unlike their previous loss in Milwaukee (Game 4) where they fell 104-102 but covered as 6-point road dogs, their setback Thursday was not nearly as kind to those who backed the Shamrocks in their NBA picks, getting a 5-point head start but losing by 11 points.

At this point, Boston fans must be agonizing over their team’s spate of bad luck. They have lost their two best players, Gordon Hayward to start the season, and Kyrie Irving as the season was winding down. Nevertheless, the Celtics’ young guns have stepped up with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Terry Rozier contributing mightily to Boston’s wins and getting this series to a deciding Game 7 on their home court.

But imagine what Milwaukee would look like if their burgeoning superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, was on the shelf? Game over. Or should I say series over, because without the Greek Freak it would be lights out in Milwaukee. After his only disappointing effort of the series in Game 5, Antetokounmpo busted out of the gates in Game 6 to again lead his team with 31 points and 14 rebounds over 41 minutes of action. Khris Middleton was no slouch, either, as he continues to be an apt sidekick to Antetokounmpo’s leading man status. Middleton was sharp as a razor from the field, connecting on 7 of 8 from the field and ending the night with 16 points.

The NBA odds board is reflecting the Celtics as solid 4½ point favorites at all of the industry majors. The books understand that the public has caught on to the fact that home court means everything in this series. The Celtics have also had the edge on the boards throughout the series except for Game 6 where the Bucks owned a 48-39 advantage. In order for the Celts to deliver a win and a cover, that stat has to be reversed. I believe the Green will return to form and finish Milwaukee on Saturday night. Lay the points and watch the C’s go 4-0 straight up and ATS at home vs. the Bucks to advance to the East semifinals.
