After a light Thursday, Friday comes with a nice lookin' betting menu of NBA games. Our expert NBA capper, Troy Hailburton, selects which sides he is liking the most for tonight's action.

Hornets vs Celtics

The Celtics are literally the hottest team in the NBA right now on a ten game winning streak and defense has to be the catalyst behind such a hot start. Boston has the number one ranked defense in terms of efficiency and teams are struggling mightily to score against a team that switches everything and has long defenders who are capable of driving opponents off of the 3-point line, which does not bode well for a team like the Hornets who are struggling to score the basketball.

Missing Batum has the Hornets relying much too heavily on Kemba Walker, who is playing phenomenal this season, but the team seems to not be able to function when he is not on the court. Kemba has an on-court net rating of 12.6 and an off-court net rating of -33.9.

Charlotte will get back some help in the form of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who will return to action after missing three games due to personal issues. While the Hornets are getting players back, the Celtics seem to be losing valuable players left and right. Al Horford is expected to miss his second straight game after suffering a concussion, and rookie Jayson Tatum has a lingering ankle issue that will likely keep him out.

These injuries may be too much for Boston to overcome and the Hornets should be able to take advantage.

 Clippers vs Thunder

Things are not going nearly as well as expected for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are coming off of another loss on national television to the Denver Nuggets. The Thunder are having a difficult time of integrating their new pieces within their team and it is only a matter of time before these frustrations begin to boil over. After last night's loss, the Thunder are now 0-6 against Western Conference opponents.

The Clippers started out the season hot after having low expectations coming into the year, but have struggled to maintain that intensity over the course of the season. Injuries have played a big part in that. LA lost point guard Milos Teodosic after just two games played and have struggled to piece together a quality guard rotation in his absence. To make matters worse, Austin Rivers sprained his ankle and practice and is questionable heading into Friday’s game. Combine that with the fact that Patrick Beverly has already been ruled out with a sore right knee and it makes it extremely difficult to find a path to victory for the Clippers.

 Bucks vs Spurs

San Antonio is thriving after a short lull in their season and have won four consecutive games. The blueprint for the Spurs success remains the same as in years past; play stellar defense and share the ball on offense.

Milwaukee may be able to learn from the Spurs formula because they have been above average in sharing the ball all season. The Bucks rank third in the NBA in assists per game with 29.8 dimes per contest. Part of the reason that Milwaukee is able to share the ball so well is all of the attention that Giannis Antetokounmpo draws on the defense. The Greek freak is drawing double and triple teams which allows him to show off his fantastic passing skills and find the open shooters on the team.

Newly acquired point guard Eric Bledsoe should be making his Bucks debut after coming over in the trade from the Phoenix Suns. Bledsoe gives the Bucks another capable playmaker to continue their passing ways, and an above average spot-up shooter that can finish beyond the arc.

The matchup between Bledsoe and Dejounte Murray should make for a fascinating sub-plot. The second-year pro out of Washington is averaging 13 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Murray has been able to use use his speed and quickness to get into the teeth of the defense and kick out to open San Antonio shooters.

Look for San Antonio to impede Milwaukee in Bledsoe’s first game action as a Buck.

Heat vs Jazz

The Miami Heat have been picking up where they left off after a 30-10 finish to last season, lead by Goran Dragic who is averaging 19 points per game. The only problem with the Heat is that their star players are constantly getting hurt. Hassan Whiteside does not look like the same player after missing extensive time with a bruised knee, and Dion Waiters has been less than explosive on a bum ankle that he probably should have had surgery on this summer but didn’t in fear of missing his big payday.

Utah is sliding on a three-game losing streak that has them questioning if they have enough offensive firepower to compete with the good teams around the league. The Jazz are shooting 38% from the field and 31% from 3-point range during that losing streak and do not have a real answer in sight as to how to fix their offensive woes.

As long as Utah continues to have problems putting the ball in the basket, they will struggle to beat teams who can score on their menacing defense.

Goran Dragic has been masterful this season and will be getting some backcourt help with the return of Tyler Johnson, who had missed time due to a concussion.
