NBA odds
The NBA odds for the game will come out late due to the fact of Thompson's status. Whether or not he plays, the Warriors will be favored, so for my NBA pick I will be backing Boston on the plus money. Get the best value you can I take the Celtics to win this straight up.

Golden State Warriors
Golden State comes in averaging 115.8 points per game, while shooting 49.6% from the field, and allowing 101.2 points per game on 42.6% shooting. They seem to always be a bit underrated defensively, but they are really tough on that end of the floor and defend beyond the arc as good as anyone ranking third in the league in defensive three point shooting percentage. With their combination of great offense and solid defense, they naturally lead the league with a +14.6 scoring margin average per game. Tonight will really test them, though, as they will be a bit thinner without Harrison Barnes and most likely Thompson. Still, even without those two, they have enough weapons to hang with and beat anyone in the league, but not tonight. Boston is the type of team that can matchup with the Warriors on both ends of the floor and this sets up as the perfect spot for Golden State to take a rare night off.

Boston Celtics
The Celtics average 103.2 points per game while shooting 43.6% from the field, and allowing 97.9 points per game on 43.6% shooting. If anyone knows how to beat a giant, it is Brad Stevens from his days at Butler, but I like Boston tonight for more than just him being at the helm.  This Celtics team is very balanced and pretty deep, as well as being one of the more unselfish ball moving teams averaging 24.5 assists per game which ranks fourth in the NBA. Tonight it will be interesting to see the pace and shots going up beyond the arc because the Celtics and Warriors rank third and first respectively in three pointers attempted per game. This will be important tonight as to who will be more efficient because both teams defend the perimeter very well. What could be the most important, though, are points in the paint, an area in which Boston can both score and defend, but where Golden State lacks a bit defensively allowing 45.8 points per game which ranks 29th in the NBA.

Whether or not Thompson plays will affect the value on the money line, but all things indicate he will get the night off. For one of your NBA picks, I recommend backing the Celtics on the money line to upset the Warriors for their first loss of the season.
