The Celtics got woken up last night losing a game they should have won by 20 points and now they head into Portland on no rest. That is going to kill their defense, as they have cashed the over at 5-1 in their last six on no rest, giving up over 110 points per game.

Boston Celtics vs Portland Trail Blazers

Boston took Sacramento for granted last night without DeMarcus Cousins and they had their seven game winning streak snapped. However, they hopefully have woken up after what should have been a blowout win to face the Blazers tonight.

The NBA Odds have the Celtics as slight +1 ½ underdogs, but the total of 219 ½ is where I’m looking for a wager tonight. The Celtics are 7-4 this season cashing the over coming off the back to back and they are allowing an average of 108.5 points per game in those 11 contests.

Furthermore, the Celtics have cashed the over in five of their last six games on no rest which basically puts their average points allowed on no rest to over 110 in that stretch. This also eliminates all their early-season back to backs, which usually aren’t as telling in a team’s long-term history playing on a back to back.

With the Blazers no strangers to giving up points as well and cashing the over in six of their last 10 home games, look for the over to cash in this one. The last time these teams played this season it went 127-123. In their last three meetings, the Celtics have averaged 116 points. Plus, the C’s rank as one of the top 10 road shooting teams in the league this season, so they should be focused tonight.
