We say almost interesting because they are still dealing with one major injury to one of their best players, however despite the fact that they may be without one of their stars tonight, the Spurs are still -10 NBA Odds favorites, with a total of 201. Will Charlotte come to play tonight as they have been doing a lot on the road this season, or will the Spurs run them out of Texas?

Parker close; still questionable
Reports on Tony Parker came out this morning, but it really doesn’t give us a better idea of his status for tonight’s game. The report from the San Antonio Express said that Parker will return by Sunday at the latest, but that does almost nothing for us tonight. It looks as if he will likely be out tonight if the Spurs say “Sunday by the latest,” however you never know with the Spurs, who are the Patriots of the NBA when it comes to injuries.
The Spurs have a night off on Saturday before their game Sunday at home against the Mavs, so it might be wise for them to just sit out their veteran star one more game so he can be as close to 100% as possible for Sunday. The Spurs are ten point favorites even with Parker’s status, and with the recent losing streak from the Thunder, the Spurs have moved to only 1 ½ games back of the Thunder for the top spot in the West. This gives them little incentive to rush Parker back. However as always, make sure you double check Parker’s status before locking in any wager. These NBA Odds were pretty late coming out this morning due to the uncertainty around Parker.
Some other Spurs are also getting healthy, and with Kawhi Leonard back, that is a big boost to the Spurs’ defense. However for this game, the Bobcats seem like they are tragically undervalued considering Parker’s status is still up in the air. Parker played in the Cats and Spurs’ most recent meeting in Charlotte, and if he can’t go tonight, it’s going to make defending Kemba Walker even more difficult.
The Sharp Pick
Charlotte is 17-9-2 ATS this season when playing on the road, making them one of the better ATS teams on the road this season. While they haven’t been outstanding SU on the road, they have been very undervalued in certain road spots, and I think this could be another one tonight. A ten point spread is a ton for what could be a very defensive minded matchup in San Antonio.
The Bobcats have won five of their last six games SU, and with Walker back and healthy, this team looks like a playoff team out East. The Spurs have not been great recently at home, and it is one of the many reasons I like the Bobcats here. San Antonio is only 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games, and the loss of Parker has had a lot to do with it.
Charlotte should be able to play at least solid defense against the Spurs tonight, and while I doubt they get the SU win, I feel great about the Cats at +10. Charlotte has given up only about 94 points per game in their last ten games, and the Spurs’ offense hasn’t been outstanding without Parker running the show. Kemba is a horrible matchup for whoever is playing point guard for the Spurs, and I see him and Al Jefferson leading to the Cats keep it close. My Pick: Bobcats +10
