Even though the Blazers are on the second half of a back-to-back tonight, the status of John Wall is still up in the air. If he ends up missing this game, there is a chance the Wizards might be forced to change up their game plan against a talented Portland team.

Portland has been one of the league’s better defensive teams so far this season, Whether or not that’s an anomaly or the new standard for this team remains to be seen, but what’s clear is they will likely be tired still coming off a hard-fought win over the Nets yesterday afternoon.

If that’s the case, and even if Wall plays or misses, Portland may have trouble slowing down the Wizards in Washington DC tonight. The Wizards are averaging more than 110 points per game at home this season, and especially if Wall plays, that could lead to some big time points against Portland.

The Blazers’ defense is good, but on the road has been an up and down proposition. They are allowing over 100 points per game on the road, and on the road against the East, that jumps to nearly 109 points per game.

Portland has only played a few games on the road this season, let alone on the road against the East, but they are also 2-1 cashing the over coming off a back to back, and if they play up in pace as well tonight, for my NBA pick, I’m looking to the over in a freshly lowered total.
