The race to the bottom of the standings is on, and New York has another great opportunity at a loss tonight against a Portland team playing for something else.

At this point in the season, if you know and can recognize the teams that want to lose, you can create some nice opportunity with your NBA picks. That applies tonight to the Knicks, who have lost 12 of their past 13 games (2-11 ATS).

Now they get to play one of the hotter teams in the NBA. Portland has been flying up the Western Conference standings, and right now every game matters for the teams fighting for the 3-though-8 seeds out West.

The Trail Blazers have moved up to the third seed with 18 games to go. However, only 2.5 games separate Portland from No. 8 Denver, and only four games separate teams seeded three through 10. The Blazers realize this, and with a tough schedule coming up, they will want to start this homestand with a force.

The last time the Blazers and Knicks played, at New York in November, Portland easily won 103-91. Kristaps Porzingis led the Knicks with 22 points, but he is now injured and the Knicks are going to have a hard time competing tonight without him.

It is a little concerning that this is the second of a back-to-back for Portland, but road-to-home back-to-backs are probably a lot easier to deal with. Plus, the Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against the East, and they should cover the number on the NBA odds board again tonight.

Despite his team possibly being tired, Portland's Damian Lillard knows what time it is. It is winning time:
