Joe Johnson had 28 points, including another game-winner to help the Triplets beat the Killer 3s 50-39 and bring home the BIG3 Championship last Sunday.

Johnson became the best player in BIG3 history after leading the league in points, assists and 4-point shots, he was his team's best scorer in every game and he hit six game-winners. His storybook season could take him back to the NBA, he worked out for the 76ers last Wednesday and is also scheduled to meet with the Clippers, Bucks, Nuggets, Pistons and Nets.

Per ESPN's Dave McMenamin: "Story filed to ESPN to go up shortly: Joe Johnson, fresh off an MVP and championship trophy in the BIG3, will travel to Detroit, Milwaukee and Brooklyn for workouts next week to try to get back into the league, sources told ESPN."

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

MVP Joe Johnson knocks down a game winner in @theBIG3 championship!!!

His 6th game winner this season.

pic.twitter.com/4O6c5KjlLw
— Ballislife.com (@Ballislife) September 1, 2019
"}[/]

Johnson was unstoppable during his first season in the BIG3. Johnson deserves one last shot at an NBA Championship and he proved that he can still play at a high level and be a solid contributor for a contender.

"I am hopeful to get back, but I did not get in the BIG3 to get back to the 'league,'" Johnson told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. "I had a great career. I enjoyed the process. The only thing that keeps the NBA fire in the belly is how it ended in Houston. That just does not sit well with me. So if an opportunity comes along and I feel that it is worth it, yeah, I take that chance."
