With the Timberwolves streaking at home and three teams on "under" rolls, let’s look at this week’s betworthy trends to help you cash some winning tickets with your NBA picks.

NBA: 5 Betworthy Trends in Week 17

1. Timberwolves Turning ATS Tide at Home

After starting the season an abysmal 4-12-1 ATS at home, Coach Tom Thibodeau and the Northwest Division-leading Minnesota Timberwolves (33-22 SU, 27-26-2 ATS) have 10 straight ATS wins following Saturday's 118-107 victory over New Orleans. The Wolves were 8- to 8½-point favorites at home, where they are 21-6 SU.

Minnesota is starting to gel with the addition of Jimmy Butler (Bulls, 21.9 ppg) and Taj Gibson (Bulls, 12.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg). They joined Karl-Anthony Towns (19.1 ppg, 12.1 rpg), Andrew Wiggins (17.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg), Jeff Teague (12.9 ppg, 6.9 apg) and standout sixth man Jamal Crawford (9.9 ppg), and the confident Timberwolves are now sitting in fourth place in the West.

2. Houston 'Unders' a Profitable 9-1-1 Last 11 on Road

All-Star James Harden and the Houston Rockets have skewed heavily to the "under" on the road, going 1-9-1 (O/U) in the totals market in their L11 heading into Saturday night's game in Cleveland. Besides the heavy "under" streak at home, the "under" was also 9-1 in the L10 Rockets games overall based on the NBA odds board.

Houston's next road games are Tuesday at Brooklyn, and Wednesday at Miami.

3. Heat Have Played 6 Consecutive 'Under' Games

After losing to the 76ers on Friday, the Miami Heat (29-23 SU, 24-25-3 ATS) had played six consecutive "unders" and were the NBA's best "under" team with a 19-31-2 totals mark. The streak ended Saturday in a 111-107 "over" loss to the Pistons; the total was in the 197 to 197½ range.

Miami is back home this week (Monday vs. Orlando; Wednesday vs. Houston; Friday vs. Milwaukee).

4. Bucks' Streak of 'Unders' Reaches 6

The Milwaukee Bucks (27-23 SU, 21-25-5 ATS) upped their own "under" streak to six games on Friday night in a 92-90 win against the Knicks. Milwaukee improved to 4-1 SU since interim coach Joe Prunty replaced Jason Kidd.

After Sunday's game at Brooklyn, Milwaukee (10-14 SU, 13-10-1 ATS on road) has a rematch with the Knicks on Tuesday in New York. The Bucks then visit Miami on Friday, and Orlando on Saturday. Something to ponder with your NBA picks: Milwaukee’s previous meetings against the Knicks and Magic went "under" the closing totals.

5. Celtics Improve to NBA-best 33-19-1 ATS

The Boston Celtics (37-15 SU, 32-19-1 ATS) have been the best team in the NBA on which to bet this season, with Kyrie Irving (quad), big man Al Horford and rookie Jayson Tatum coming together and thriving. Boston (20-8 SU at home) made it six straight wins ATS on Sunday, beating Portland 97-96 as slight home underdogs.

Boston (18-7 SU on road) goes on the road this week (Tuesday at Toronto; Thursday at Washington) before returning home Friday against Indiana.
