It's hard to have much trust in the Heat considering all of their injury problems right now, but we'll do our best to break down this matchup to try and find the best NBA betting value out there.
Want proof on just how much the Heat are struggling, both in terms of injuries and in their performances? Well, they're favored by only 2.5 points at home against the Celtics.
For those considering a total play, the O/U is at an even 200 points as of now, with plenty of time still left in the day for the NBA odds to move. Keep checking back the NBA odds to get the best number you can. Trust us.
Somehow, some way, the Heat are finding ways to get wins, even in spite of the fact they're missing practically half of their rotation. They come into tonight having won three of their last four games, and as a result they're only a half game out of the eighth and final seed in the Eastern Conference standings.
It wasn't easy against Sacramento on Saturday, but the Heat made enough plays down the stretch and in overtime to grab the 114-109 win. It took him a while to get going, but Dwyane Wade came alive when it mattered most and went on to post 28 points along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals. Tyler Johnson came up huge off the bench too, compiling 24 points, six boards and six dimes in 44 minutes of play, as Miami shot 51.3 percent from the floor overall.
Injuries have been a huge problem for Miami here of late, with Wade, Goran Dragic, Luol Deng, Hassan Whiteside and Mario Chalmers, among others, all missing time. Dragic, Deng and Whiteside all missed the win over Sacramento and it remains to be seen if they'll be good to go tonight. Make sure you check on the latest injury news in order to be completely up-to-date and informed before making your final NBA picks.
Having won consecutive games over Utah and New Orleans, the Celtics were unable to make it three in a row last night in Orlando. They lost 103-98 to a Magic team that was without star center Nikola Vucevic.
Even more disheartening, Boston got off to a great start, going up 31-17 after one quarter. The Celtics fizzled out, however, and thus dropped to 25-36 overall on the season. The Celtics shot 39.3 percent from the field, 44.1 percent from beyond the arc and 81.3 percent from the charity stripe. Brandon Bass went off despite his team losing, racking up 19 points, 17 rebounds and five assists, while Isaiah Thomas came through once again off the bench, scoring 21 points to go with nine assists, five rebounds and two steals.
Despite their underwheleming overall record, the Celtics are still in the playoff picture, so they still have plenty to play for. They will enter tonight's game in South Beach having gone 10-20 on the road, however, so they'll really have to step it up in order to escape with the W.
As tough as it is to make an NBA pick without a lot of updated injury information, we think the value on the Heat here at home is too much to pass up.
Miami has struggled on its own court, but that's a trend we think will turn around assuming they get back to full strength. And, the Heat will also have the advantage of having an extra day of rest for tonight's game, with the Celtics perhaps a little winded after last night's hard-fought loss in Orlando.
So, we've decided to back Wade and company with our sports picks tonight. Barring any major absences tonight, we look for Miami to do enough to get the win, even though it may not be pretty to watch. Roll with the Heat.
