The top NBA betting sites have the Spurs favored by 1.5 points on the road, while Game 3's total can be found at either 208.5 or 209.
San Antonio Spurs
Another dominant performance from the Spurs in Game 2, only this time they did most of their damage in the second quarter.
Up 29-26 after one, San Antonio went on a huge run in the second, out-scoring Portland 41-25 to take a commanding 19-point lead into halftime. The Spurs never looked back and ended up with the 114-97 win to easily cash as six-point favorites.
Again, the balanced scoring effort was too much for the Trail Blazers to cope with. Seven different Spurs scored at least 10 points, while two others went for at least seven points in the blowout victory. San Antonio shot 53.3 percent overall and 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from three.
Tony Parker had success again, scoring 16 points with 10 assists and five rebounds. Kawhi Leonard hit 8-of-9 shots for 20 points and Tiago Splitter and Tim Duncan combined for 20 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Manu Ginobili, Marco Belinelli and Boris Diaw all hit double figures in scoring as well.
The offensive juggernaut that is San Antonio just keeps rolling on and Portland hasn't found a way to stop it. You have to figure the Spurs will find it more difficult on the road, but you'd be hard pressed to bet against them at this point in time.
Portland Trail Blazers
In short, the Trail Blazers couldn't make the necessary stops and that allowed the Spurs to run away with the double-digit win yet again.
Portland shot 43.0 percent overall and 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from three, with their perfect record from the charity stripe (10-of-10) acting as nothing more than a consolation.
LaMarcus Aldridge had another double-double (16 and 10) but was only 6-of-23 from the floor. Damian Lillard finished with a 19/5/5 line and had only one turnover, yet he was battered by Parker on the other end of the floor.
The two highlights for Portland were Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews. Batum had 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting while also pulling down nine rebounds, while Matthews had 14 points, seven rebounds and four dimes in the loss.
The Trail Blazers simply have to execute better on both ends of the court if they want to avoid a disastrous 3-0 hole. They had success against the Spurs throughout the regular season and this is a mentally tough team we're talking about, so we do expect them to play much better here in Game 3.
Game 3 Pick
Jordan Sharp will be going with the UNDER as his preferred pick for Game 3 and we like the play. The pressure is mounting for the Trail Blazers and they have to pick it up defensively, simple as that.
That's one of the reasons we think Portland is worth taking on the NBA betting spread as well. The public may jump all over San Antonio after two straight blowouts, but we're thinking that will open up some value on the Trail Blazers at home.
This series is far from over and we expect Portland to show that with a much better overall effort tonight. Take the Trail Blazers to cash.
