The Rockets will try to even their best-of-seven series with the Spurs on Sunday. Houston is favored by 6 points and the total has been set at 212.

Game 3 Recap

The Spurs prevailed 103-92 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in this series. Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge combined for 52 points and San Antonio held Houston to a season-low 92 points. It was the fewest points scored by the Rockets since finishing with 81 in a Game 5 loss to the Warriors in the first round of last year's playoffs.

San Antonio needs more from LaMarcus Aldridge, especially with Tony Parker out for the rest of the season. As I mentioned on our series preview, Aldridge can be the X-factor for the Spurs. He proved that on Friday, stepping up with 26 points, seven rebounds and four blocks after scoring just 19 points in the first two games of the series combined.

James Harden led the way for the Rockets with 43 points after finishing with just 13 in Game 2 but he had only five assists and Houston was 32-for-88 from the floor (36.4 percent), including just 12 of 39 on 3-point attempts (30.8 percent).

The Spurs also did a great job limiting Eric Gordon and Lou Williams to just 10 points. Scoring off the bench is one of Houston's biggest strengths and they have to figure out a way to get more production from their reserves if they want to even this series.

Betting Trends

The Spurs are 6-1 ATS as an underdog, 6-3 ATS in all playoff games and 20-14 ATS after a win by 10 points or more.

The Rockets are 33-37 ATS as a favorite, 19-26 ATS in home games and 18-23 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record.

Final Analysis

The Rockets are favored by 6 points on the NBA odds board but the Spurs figured out the adjustments that had to be made after their Game 1 loss and everyone stepped up to play their part in Game 3, recovering home court advantage.

Can the Rockets get it together before it's too late? Houston will play better on Sunday and they might even win the game but I like San Antonio's value, getting 6 points after their impressive effort on Friday. I like the Spurs to keep the game close as one of my NBA picks.
