The last two times the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs have met up their final total scores have been well below 200 points. However, today NBA odds makers have set the total at 205.

Betting Odds
NBA odds makers have come out with the total for this game set at 207, like at Bookmaker -110. For my NBA pick today I'm going to back over this total and look for a more up-and-down affair than we have seen from these two teams when they have met up earlier this season. Minnesota has been allowing a lot of points recently and I expect the Spurs to take advantage of that. As well, Minnesota should be sufficient enough at home to help get to the over.

San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio averages 104.7 points per game and rank third, second, and first in the NBA in two point, three point, and overall shooting percentage respectively. Across the board statistically San Antonio is arguably the best team in the league alongside the Golden State Warriors. What really makes this line jump out at me is the fact the last two times they faced Minnesota they've ended up with totals of 196, and 191. Surprisingly as well is the fact that since the beginning of the new year San Antonio has not had a lot of high total finals in the second game of their back the backs with their last two in this situation staying well under 190 points. At first glance this line looks way out of proportion but I expect San Antonio to put up a lot of points tonight with a lot of efficient scoring against a Minnesota team that in their last five games have allowed teams to average well over 110 points per game. Expect the Spurs to continue that trend and bounce back from a rough offensive game versus the Pacers.

Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota is averaging 101.5 points per game and rank eighth in the NBA in overall shooting percentage. Defensively they have gone from being one of the tougher opponents earlier in the season to one of the worst as they rank 28th in the league in both opponent two point and overall shooting percentage, and 29th in opponent shooting efficiency. In their last 10 games they have had some really high finals and for the most part except for a couple games they have been averaging well over their season average of 81 field-goal attempts per game. They won't find scoring all that easy against the number one defense in the league but they are catching San Antonio in the right spot, on the road and on the second leg of a back to back. The Timberwolves on the second leg of their last two back to backs have had finals that ended up well over 220, although I don't expect that many points tonight I believe these teams combined should go well over the current total.
