LeBron meets up with his old team once again, with the Heat currently favored heavily over the Cavaliers. What's our preferred NBA pick?

Odds Overview

Oddsmakers have priced out Miami as 12.5-point favorites, no surprise given the home team's pedigree. The Heat are 16-6 SU and 11-11 ATS, while the Cavaliers are 9-13 SU and 8-14 ATS.

A total play may be attractive to you and if it is you can find the O/U at 198.5. The UNDER has gone 7-2 in the past nine head-to-head matchups between these teams.

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers' start to the season hasn't been good, but they have turned the corner lately. They've won three straight and five of six ahead of tonight's battle in South Beach.

There are some quality wins in that stretch too, including home wins over the Clippers (88-82), Nuggets (98-88), Bulls (97-93) and Knicks (98-88), with their one road victory coming last night (109-100) in Orlando.

Down nine after one, Kyrie Irving and the Cavaliers made a run in the second and fourth quarters to grab the win.

Irving shot 12-of-24 from the floor and finished with a game-high 31 points to go along with five assists, three rebounds and two steals. Anderson Varejao (10 points and 14 rebounds) and Dion Waiters (21/5/4) both had good games off the bench.

As you can see, Cleveland's playing good ball right now, yet the ultimate test comes tonight against the defending champions.

Miami Heat

The Heat have been off since last Tuesday's 90-84 road loss to Indiana.

Miami had gotten off to a great start, outscoring the Pacers 30-19 after one quarter and 47-40 at halftime.

Indiana really buckled down defensively in the second half though and that's what led the home team to the win. Overall, the Heat shot 42.9 percent from the field and hit on only 19.0 percent (4-of-21) from beyond the arc.

LeBron James notched only 17 points (6-of-16 FG), but added 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the loss. Dwyane Wade had 17 points, six boards, six assists and three steals, while Chris Bosh and Chris Andersen also hit double figures.

On the injury front, Greg Oden (knee) remains out, while Michael Beasley is expected to miss tonight's game due to a hamstring problem. The good news is Wade (knee) has had plenty of time to recuperate and should be ready to go.

NBA Pick

The Heat have dominated the head-to-head series, wining eight straight games. They have however gone just 4-4 ATS in those meetings.

In this season's one meeting, Miami took home a 94-85 win on the road and covered as 8.5-point favorites. LeBron had 28 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, Wade went for 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Beasley chipped in with 17 points and nine boards off the bench.

We're on the lookout for another victory for the Heat at home tonight. The Cavaliers are a miserable 3-9 ATS on the road this season and they're just far too inconsistent for our liking.

Cleveland has had major defensive issues in their backcourt, so Wade should be very productive, and we're not quite sure who'll be able to stop LeBron either. Let's therefore taking Miami, raring to go after a ton of rest, to cover the huge number for your NBA pick.
