With just 4 games on Monday's NBA slate, we're going to dig deep and provide you with the best betting totals for this small slate. Stand by as we look to start the betting public off in the green this week.

Detroit Pistons (13-24) vs. Toronto Raptors (25-11) - Total- 208
We have the highest total for the night in this game and it's because of two reasons. Toronto ranks 3rd in the NBA in points at 107.7 and the Detroit Pistons have been like a different team since giving Josh Smith his walking papers.

Is Stan Van Gundy A Genius?
I wouldn't say that Van Gundy is a genius, but he pulled off one of the best moves that you will ever see a head coach make. Van Gundy waived Josh Smith, a player with a huge contract and was also a player that was supposed to be one of the faces of the Detroit franchise and since then, Detroit has turned around their season, winning 8 of 9 games and their offensive output has skyrocketed to 106.2 points per game in that period of time and the Detroit defense has come up huge. I mean, who would've thought that one player could be so harmful to a basketball team?

With the increase in points means an increase in the betting total. The only issue that I see there is that Detroit's defense has also improved and while we were looking at the over the total, Detroit's defense might make that difficult, even against a Raptors team at home that can shoot the lights out.

Brandon Jennings
I remember when Brandon Jennings was on the Bucks with Monta Ellis and he was an offensive force. Jennings has had somewhat of a poor season and his minutes have been limited to under 30 minutes per game. That said, in his last 10 games, he's been the Brandon Jennings of old, averaging nearly 18 points per game in limited time.

Even though Detroit's defense has really been tough lately, I don't see the Pistons stopping Kyle Lowry and the Raptors from getting their points. Toronto has had their best season thus far as a franchise and the Pistons 9 game run isn't enough to break their momentum. Look for an over the total here as the NBA odds were placed at 208 by the odds makers for good reason.

Orlando Magic 13-27 vs. Chicago Bulls 26-12- Total -190
Injuries Are a Key Factor
Tonight, you have a Magic team that's lost 6 straight games and they face a tough Chicago Bulls team at the United Center. It's likely that the Magic will be without Tobias Harris and Evan Fournier while the Bulls will be without Derrick Rose and Mike Dunleavy. The consensus is that Derrick Rose just doesn't want to play basketball and with the limited amount of time that he's spent on the court, I'm starting to agree with this belief.

Pow or Pau?
Pau Gasol has been a beast all season long as he's delivered knockout blows to opponents on a regular basis. Jimmy Butler has been great, but Pau Gasol is the MVP of the Bulls and one of the best players in the league.

While a change of scenery hasn't helped Josh Smith, it has done wonders for Gasol's basketball game. Pau is averaging 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. The big story is his last game against Milwaukee as he put up 46 points and 18 rebounds in a 95-87 victory. Usually when a player has a monster game to that degree, they usually come back down to the earth the next game and this can play a role in the total of tonight's game.

We may see a blowout in favor of the Bulls, who are favored by 10.5 points, but that means players sitting early and possibly missing an entire quarter. If this scenario happens, I don't think that we'll see a lot of points as both teams are short-handed. Normally, in forming my NBA pick for a game like this, I would like to check out the betting trends, but the regular starters won't be in the game due to injuries.

Look for Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic to put forth their best efforts, but in the end, Chicago is too strong a team that can play defense and there's really nobody on the Magic that scares me offensively besides the 2 players that I mentioned. I also think that Joakim Noah will create havoc on the defensive end for Orlando.
