The Timberwolves travel to Chicago to meet the Bulls in a West vs. East NBA matchup. Here's our expert capper's preview on this game, odds analysis and final pick.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Chicago Bulls (-6-) 8:05 ET
The Minnesota Timberwolves travel to the Windy City to face the Chicago Bulls in a West vs. East NBA matchup. The West has clearly been dominant over the East in such affairs, posting a 190-119 SU record in such contests, including 13-8 ATS following the All-Star break.  These two met earlier this season in Minnesota with the Bulls posting a 106-105 victory as 2 point road chalk on the NBA odds. Chicago is currently 36-22 SU, holding down 4th place in the Eastern Conference, but now trailing Cleveland by ½ game for the division lead. Minnesota at 13-43 SU has the worst record in the West.  So why would we be considering a non-contender vs. a contender at this point in the season?

Chicago received horrible news earlier this week when they learned that their All-Star point guard, Derrick Rose, would be undergoing his 3rd knee surgery and lost for an undetermined point in time. The shocked Bulls responded with a lethargic performance in a 98-86 home court loss to Charlotte.  It is reported that many of the Bulls are still stunned by their loss.  Chicago is just 7-5 SU without Rose in the lineup this season. As is historically the case, the Bulls are just 7-15 ATS as favorite of 4 or more on this court.  We want no part of them in this role with the effects of Rose still lingering.

Minnesota is a team who was bitten hard by the injury bug. For a large part of the first half of the season, the Wolves played without 3 of their best players, Pekovic, Kevin Martin, and Ricky Rubio. In early February, all 3 returned to the lineup. Combined with the play of Rookie of the Year candidate Wiggins, the Wolves have put together a 5-3 SU record.  At the break, they were further buoyed by the addition of a former, much loved player in Kevin Garnett. To a man, the T-Wolves say his infectious enthusiasm has ramped up the energy level of the entire team. A 97-77 victory vs. Washington in their most recent contest confirms the above facts.

This is a matchup of a reenergized team from whom much more was expected this season. They will be eager to show their wares against a perennial conference contender, who is now suffering through the same type of emotional issues that Minnesota was earlier in the season. Take the 'Wolves with your NBA picks.
