Memphis owns the recent series with Detroit, winning the last 10 straight-up, going 8-2 against the spread. The playoff-bound Grizzles are short road favorites for Tuesday's game over Pistons.

Grizzlies-Pistons Betting Odds
Tuesday's NBA betting odds market opened this game with Memphis favored by four points, with an OVER/UNDER of right around 190. Most books then added a hook to the Grizzles in the early betting.

Grizzlies-Pistons: The Situation
Detroit comes into Tuesday “riding” a 10-game losing streak, after losing at Utah Saturday 88-85. The Pistons led that game by a bucket with about seven minutes to go, and trailed by one point with 30 seconds to go, but came up a 3-pointer short of forcing overtime.

Detroit only shot 38 percent from the floor Saturday, and went just 13-for-22 from the line, but managed to cover as an eight-point road dog.

That game was the finale of an 0-4 road trip for the Pistons, following losses at the Lakers, Golden State and Portland.

At 23-43 Detroit is mired in 12th place in the Eastern Conference, and remains a team in flux. We have no idea whether the Pistons are headed in the right direction or not, and from what we can tell, neither do they.

Memphis has basically been treading water since the All-Star, going 8-6 SU, 5-9 ATS. The Grizzlies have won their last two games, though, after beating Denver Monday night 92-81. Memphis only shot 41 percent from the floor, and committed 20 turnovers; maybe that's why the Grizz came up short in trying to cover at -13.

Saturday Memphis defeated Milwaukee 96-83, but just before that the Grizzles had lost back-to-back games at Boston and at Washington.

At 47-20 Memphis sits in second place in the Western Conference, 6.5 games behind first-place Golden State, two games ahead of third-place Portland.

As mentioned above the Grizz have taken 10 straight games from Detroit, after winning the first meeting between these teams this season back in November 95-88. That game was close throughout, as neither team shot the ball very well. But with a 66-49 advantage on the boards and a 33-17 advantage in free-throws the Grizzles ground out a victory.

However, the Pistons held on the for the cover as nine-point underdogs. Also, that game stayed UNDER its total of 186, as the teams combined for just 82 points in the second half.

Injury Betting Update
Since Detroit lost G Brandon Jennings for the season to an Achilles injury it's gone 6-19 SU, but 13-12 ATS.

Meanwhile, Memphis G Mike Conley (16 points, five assists PG) has missed recent action with a sprained ankle, and is questionable for tonight. Somehow, the Grizzlies are 6-1 SU, 5-2 ATS without the former Ohio State Buckeye this season.
