With momentum swinging back and forth in the series between the Spurs and Clippers, can the Clippers come to the good for NBA bettors tonight and level the series 3-3? Check out our NBA picks.

San Antonio Spurs Back In The Lead
San Antonio Spurs assumed control of their series with the LA Clippers in game 5, moving ahead 3-2. They return to San Antonio looking to close out the series with home advantage. Will they come through as the NBA odds makers' favorite, matched as the -240 favorites to win straight up and the 5.5-point favorites against the spread.

The Spurs (3-2, 1-1 home) rallied in game 5 to erase the Clippers' 14-point lead in the first quarter and with a bit of luck going their way in the dying seconds of the game they took the 111-107 victory, all while coming through as the nominal +110 road underdogs and the 2.5-point pups against the spread for their backers.

Despite losing game 4 114-105, the Spurs bounced back on the road in Los Angeles, extending their tradition of success in game 5s of the NBA Playoffs. On the heels of Tuesday's win, the Spurs improve to 24-8 in game 5s since clinching their first championship in 1999. The run of form now improves to six straight game 5 victories over the last two seasons and includes a 16-1 mark over the course of their five title winning seasons.

Those are gaudy numbers indeed, which should send them into game 6 brimming with confidence as they look to close out the series with the LA Clippers on Thursday night.

LA Clippers Look To Bounce Back
The momentum has oscillated in this series between both teams, so nothing can be taken for granted. Losing at home on Tuesday night can't sit well with the Clippers; an opportunity to take the lead in this series with home advantage slipped through their fingers, literally and figuratively. Los Angeles trailed by a point when Jordan's tip-in of Blake Griffin's floating shot was ruled out, and replay confirmed the call.

Nevertheless, the Clippers have to fancy their chances on the road in this series. After all, only several days ago,  they took game 4 in San Antonio 114-105, all while matched as the hefty +220 underdogs to win straight up and the 6-point pups against the spread. The win also saw them snap a Spurs' two-game winning streak in the series.

Knowing they can win on the road is only going to add value to their NBA odds going into Thursday's clash. They are trading as the +200 underdogs to win outright while the spread is set to 5.5-points. That said, the Clippers have notoriously struggled in games 5 and 6 of the NBA Playoffs. They are 1-8 over the course of both games since 2012, including Tuesday's loss. Can they avoid a similar fate in game 6 of this series?

NBA Betting Verdict:
San Antonio Spurs are in an enviable position: a game 6 that is essentially a home-clincher in this series. With a tradition of success at this stage of the NBA Playoffs and momentum behind Tuesday's narrow win, the Spurs emerge as our choice NBA pick to close out the series as the -240 faves. The Clippers have to give it their all if they are to stand a chance of extending this series to game 7, hence they emerge as our choice NBA pick to cover as the 5.5-point underdogs.
