Detroit is coming off one of their worst defeats of the season while the Bulls are hoping to rebound after a narrow loss to the Bucs but which team will be the right side to cash in our NBA picks tonight?

Detroit Pistons (29-46 SU, 37-38 ATS)
The boys from the Motor City racked up four consecutive straight up wins and ATS covers until they traveled to Miami and not only lost 109-102 but failed to cover the NBA odds as 2 ½ point underdogs. The Pistons flew home and rebounded splendidly against the Beast of the East, the Atlanta Hawks, where they sent the home crowd happy with a 105-95 victory and easily covered as two-point home dogs. But the euphoria didn’t last long as they never showed up in their following game on Wednesday night where they were trounced 102-78 by the Hornets.

So what will happen this evening and how will the mercurial Pistons respond to the embarrassing performance they put on against Charlotte? Well, if they expect to win this one in Chicago they better be aware that when they allow 100 points or better they have lost nine of their last 10 games. The Pistons continue to be without the services of power forward Greg Monroe who has been sidelined over the last several games but Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond are the straws that have stirred this drink all season long.

Chicago Bulls (45-30 SU, 35-40 ATS)
The Bulls have won and covered the NBA odds in five of their last seven games but one of those two losses came in their last game against their Central divisional rivals the Milwaukee Bucks as they dropped a 95-91 decision as five-point home chalk. Pao Gasol is the big man in the middle averaging 11.8 boards per game while shooting guard Jimmy Butler is leading the way in scoring with 20.3 PPG.

The Bulls have dominated this series over the years but they will have to win this one in order to break even with the Pistons this year. In their last outing in Chicago, which came way back in November, the Bulls drew away and notched a 102-91 victory and scored for those who backed them in their NBA picks as 10-point home favorites.

The club ranks 13th in points per game and 11th in points allowed but their biggest impact has been on the glass as the Bulls are currently pulling down 45.7 rebounds per game which is good for 3rd in the league. In their last game Jimmy Butler continued to assail the hoop with 25 on the scorer’s ledger while Gasol added 14 points and 11 boards.

NBA Pick
The Pistons have acquitted themselves quite nicely against the Bulls this season and I don’t see that result changing here. The Pistons are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 trips to Chicago and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings. I believe that the Pistons will do it one more time and while they may not dribble out of the Windy City with a victory they will stay within the number.

The Pistons will be excused for their absence in their last game when they were torched by the score of 102-78 courtesy of the Hornets. The Bulls will be smarting after their own loss to the Bucs on Wednesday but when these two teams meet tonight it will be much closer than the odds makers believe. I will gladly take the 10-point head start and watch the Pistons keep it close in Chi-Town.
