The playoff-bound Pacers finished the month 4-10, including a 1-7 mark over the last eight games. They'll try to get back on track in their April opener against visiting Detroit on Monday, the first of back-to-back games between the Central Division rivals.

Following a two-point loss at Boston on Friday, the Pacers dropped a 121-116 decision to Orlando at home on Saturday. Indiana allowed 65 second-half points to the Magic. Indiana lost four straight games after leading scorer Indiana lost four straight games after leading scorer Victor Oladipo suffered a ruptured quadriceps tendon in his right knee in late January. The Pacers got over the initial shock of losing him by posting a 9-3 record in February but they're increasingly feeling his absence, particularly during crunch time.

The Pacers and Pistons both started their post All-Star break schedules on winning streaks as the two picked up steam heading into the Eastern Conference playoff race. Indiana is somehow managing to stay one of the better teams in the entire league, despite the loss to All-Star guard Victor Oladipo. The Pacers are maintaining their position as the third best team in the East and have largely done so by being a force on the defensive end.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

The Pacers ended up on the wrong side of a close game for the second night in a row. ;/a>'s @katiehargitt breaks down the mentality of the team as they continue their fight for the fourth seed. ;/a>
— Indiana Pacers (@Pacers) 31 de março de 2019
\n"}[/]

If nothing else, the Pistons are feeling a lot better about themselves and what the rest of the season might bring. Their 119-96 win Orlando on Saturday, following a three-point victory over Portland the previous night, has elevated them to the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. The reserves carried Detroit at Orlando, racking up a season-high 66 points. Point guard Ish Smith reached season bests with 22 points and nine assists, while fellow reserves Luke Kennard and Langston Galloway each scored 17 points.

There are still some elements to Griffin’s game that are endearing for the Pistons and a large part of that has to be his ability to run the offense and set up Andre Drummond. Griffin is averaging 5.4 assists per game over his last ten games and has been the focal point of the Pistons offense which has been run out of the high-post. Detroit can be successful with this style of play, they just need more depth to be able to stay in games when Drummond and Griffin are on the bench.

The Pistons struggle on the road, as they are just 18-19 ATS way from home this season. The Pacers are 22-16 ATS at home on the season and will have Myles Turner ready to take on the Pistons after he missed the last two meetings between these teams which the teas split. The Pacers are a good bet to start the week off right.
