The Bulls travel to Miami to face the Heat in this TNT matchup with an 8:00 tip time. Can the Bulls upset the NBA odds and keep their playoff hopes alive?

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat
These teams have already met three times this season with Miami standing 3-0 SU ATS in those meetings with victories of 22, 18 and 5 points.

Big name players, Rose and Wade, recently missed time for their respective teams.  But, each returned to play Tuesday night.  For tonight, only Miami’s interior force, Whiteside (a double/double machine of late), may miss this game.  His availability will be accurately in the betting line.  I like the Heat at the fair price regardless of whether Whiteside plays or not!

In perusing the NBA’s Eastern Conference playoff queue, we find that Chicago is in 9th place with 4 games remaining.  They trail Detroit by 2 games in the loss column and Indiana by 3 games in the loss column for the final playoff spot.  Meanwhile, Miami is locked in a 4-way battle for the 3rd thru 6th seeds with Atlanta, Boston and Charlotte.  Gaining seeds 3 or 4 will give Miami home court advantage in the First Round.

Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are widely considered to be the most under-performing team in the Eastern Conference with a 39-39 SU record, which includes just 15-24 SU on the road.  The coaching change from Thibodaux to Hoiberg has not gone as smoothly as anticipated.  The team has also suffered some key injuries.  But, one cannot ignore the fact this team is allowing 103 PPG (more than any of the teams above them, who are qualified for the playoffs).   They enter tonight on a run of 3-6 SU with no momentum, following a 108-92 loss to a battered and bruised Memphis team.  In addition, this has not been a profitable role for the Bulls, who are just 7-16 ATS as single-digit road dog this season.

Miami Heat
At the other end of the defensive spectrum is a Miami Heat team whose 98 PPG on defense is tied with Cleveland and Toronto for the best in the league.  The Heat could have tossed the towel, when they learned at the All Star Break, that Chris Bosh (blood clots) would probably miss the remainder of the season.  Instead, with the addition of veteran guard, Joe Johnson to stabilize the team, Miami responded with a 16-8 SU run, including 10-2 SU on this court.  With 5 veteran contributors in Wade, Whiteside, Dragic, Deng and Johnson, as well as an outstanding defense, I like the chances of this team moving forward.

I invite you to put the NBA odds in your favor and join me in my NBA pick on the Miami Heat in tonight's game.
