The New York Knicks (28-43) visit the United Center to battle the Chicago Bulls (36-33). The Bulls are favored by 8.5 points on the NBA odds board and the total is set at 201.5.

New York Knicks
The New York Knicks are reeling, with four losses in their last five games, including an 88-80 home setback against the Kings last Sunday. The Knicks were without Carmelo Anthony and it showed, as the Kings, the worst defensive team in the league, had their best performance on that side of the court this season. Jerian Grant led the Knicks with 14 points and Kristaps Porzingis added 13.

The Knicks average 98.5 points per game (26th in the league) and shoot 43.8 percent from the floor and 34.0 percent from three-point range (23th in the NBA) and they pull down 44.1 rebounds per game. New York allows 101.4 points per game (11th in the league) and their opponents shoot 44.5 percent overall (10th in the NBA) and 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and grab 44.3 rebounds per game.

Carmelo Anthony Lillard leads the team with 21.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists, Kristaps Porzingis averages 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds and Arron Afflalo adds 13.7 points per game.

Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls are getting healthier and playing decent basketball at the right time, winning four of their last five games. The Bulls are coming oof a 109-102 win against the Kings last Monday. Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson finished with 18 points each and Pau Gasol added 14 points and 14 rebounds as the Bulls came back into the game with a 10-0 fourth quarter rally.

The Bulls average 101.8 points per game on 44.0 percent shooting overall and 37.0 percent shooting from three-point range (third in the league) and they pull down 47.1 rebounds per game (second in the NBA). Defensively, Chicago allows 102.9 points per game and their opponents shoot 43.7 percent from the floor and 33.4 percent from beyond the arc and grab 46.3 rebounds per game.

Jimmy Butler leads the Bulls with 21.7 points, Pau Gasol averages 17.0 points and team-bests with 11.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks and Derrick Rose adds 16.7 points and a team-best 4.9 assists.

Betting Trends
The Knicks are 8-13 ATS in the second half of the season, 5-7 ATS after three or more consecutive unders and 4-6 ATS when playing with two days rest. The Bulls are 16-20 ATS in home games, 10-5 ATS against Atlantic Division opponents and 5-4 ATS after three or more consecutive wins.

Final Analysis
The Bulls are an 8.5-point favorite on the NBA odds board and the total has been set at 201.5. This will be the third meeting of the season between these two teams. The season series is tied 1-1, with team winning on their respective home court. The Knicks gave up on their season while the Bulls are at home, fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Chicago is finally healthy, and their three stars Butler, Gasol and Rose will play while Carmelo Anthony doesn't have enough help with the Knicks. I'm taking the Bulls -8.5 at home with one of my NBA picks.
