We crushed Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semi finals and now after a day off, we have Game 1 of the Western Conference finals to take advantage of the bookie. Bovada is the sportsbook we are attacking once again with two more valuable prop picks.
Jonathon Simmons had an impressive series against the Rockets in round two and now after playing big minutes in that series, he will be called upon again to make big shots with an increased role against the Warriors.
However, after dropping 18 points in Game 6 against the Rockets without the services of Kawhi Leonard, Simmons may find it harder to get into double figures and beyond in this game for several reasons.
The Warriors are a far better defensive team than the Rockets and while they play at a similar pace, the Warriors have one of the better defenses in the league; maybe better than the Spurs.
Simmons will not only have to take on guarding Kevin Durant or Klay Thompson, especially if Leonard is resting, that should hurt his offensive output. In the last series, Simmons did have to check James Harden a lot, but he also got the pleasure of going against those guys on defense.
Neither Harden or Eric Gordon are good defenders and both are probably in the poor department on defense. Thompson and Durant, on the other hand, are above-average defenders and with the rest, they are coming off, Simmons might find it hard to get off shots. He shot the ball well against the Rockets, but now against a better defense, I see the under as the MLB pick here.Free NBA Pick: Under 10½ (-105) Best Line Offered: at Bovada
Draymond Green O/U 27½ points, rebounds, and assists
Draymond Green is coming off his best playoff performance of the season in Game 4 against the Jazz as he went for his first playoff triple-double. Considering Green has been in the news a lot for his comments on the competitiveness of the Eastern Conference, I see him coming out and bringing it against the Spurs in what should be a big game for the power forward,
During the regular season, Green missed one game against the Spurs, but his first against them was a huge performance at the beginning of the season. He had 18 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists and I could easily see another performance like that in Game 1.
Green is rested, he has heard people in the media bashing him for the better part of a week and at home, he is going to be feeding of what should be a very loud crowd tonight. In the last series against the Jazz, Green averaged 16.0 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists and a line like that this afternoon should be in the cards.Free NBA Pick: Over 27½ (-115) Best Line Offered: at Bovada
