The Wizards and Blazers are both on winning streaks and are good bets for Friday night's NBA Slate.

This is the last remaining game between the teams, so Washington can make up that ground without any outside help. Washington has won three of its past four. Charlotte has lost nine of 12 and has developed a habit of slow starts. The Hornets had allowed 30-plus points in the first quarter in nine consecutive games before giving up "only" 29 to Miami.

One of the Hornets' three victories in its 12-game slump came against the Wizards, 123-110 in Charlotte, N.C., on Feb. 22, as both teams returned from the All-Star break. Washington won the first meeting of the season, a 130-126 result at home on Dec. 29.

This meeting could be quite the duel of All-Star guards. Beal scored 46 in the loss to Charlotte, while Hornets' guard Kemba Walker poured in 47 in the loss to the Wizards. Walker has scored 74 points in two games against Washington this season and his nightly production of 25.0 points per game is almost a given, but Charlotte also has been getting the best totals of the season from backup center Frank Kaminsky.

The fourth-year pro had appeared in only five games this calendar year before coach James Borrego moved him ahead of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Malik Monk in the rotation on March 1. Kaminsky, who was looking for a contract buyout last month, is averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 25 minutes in the past three games.

Washington has covered the spread in four straight games and boasts a 21-11 record ATS at home on the season, making them a very good bet on Friday night.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

From practice, Coach Brooks on playing with passion, maximizing every opportunity, preparing for Kemba Walker, and more. #DCFamily pic.twitter.com/w3yDHQjn1K
— Washington Wizards (@WashWizards) March 14, 2019
\n\n"}[/]

Portland (41-26 SU, 38-29 ATS) at New Orleans (30-40 SU, 34-35-1)

Friday 8 P.M. The last time the Blazers played in New Orleans, their 2017-18 season was coming to an end as the Pelicans completed a sweep of a first-round playoff series. As those teams prepare to meet again Friday night in New Orleans, the Trail Blazers are steaming toward another playoff berth while the Pelicans are closing in on mathematical elimination from the postseason chase.

Portland has won seven of 10 games since the All-Star Break as it tries to earn home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs although the home-court edge didn't do the third-seeded Blazers much good against sixth-seeded New Orleans last season.

The Trail Blazers won both meetings with the Pelicans in Portland this season and the teams are preparing to have their only meeting in New Orleans. The Blazers can clinch a winning record and reach the .500 mark on the road by beating the short-handed Pelicans, who have dropped four straight games.

New Orleans will again be without injured starters Jrue Holiday (abdominal strain) and E’Twaun Moore (quad contusion). Both players are scheduled to be re-evaluated some time during the next week, but coach Alvin Gentry indicated that both players could be shut down for the rest of the season. Holiday and Moore are two of the team's better outside shooters and without them, the Pelicans attempted a franchise-record 47 3-pointers but made just 10 in a 130-113 home loss against Milwaukee on Tuesday.

The short-handed Pelicans are no match for the red hot Blazers, bet Portland for an easy road cover.
