After a rather ugly loss to the Denver Nuggets, the New Orleans Pelicans (6-5) look to rebound on the road with the altitude change as they face a Utah Jazz team (5-8) which is looking to catch New Orleans on the second half of a back to back. See who we like as our betting pick in this weekend matchup.

Tip-off is scheduled for tonight at 9:00 pm ET at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

NBA odds lists the Pelicans as a 2.5 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 201.

This is a major opportunity for the underdog Jazz to take advantage of a solid New Orleans team that looked really beaten up in the 2nd half of their loss against Denver last night. The Jazz are a young team with a good amount of talent. These are the type of opportunities that they need to take advantage of.

"You Can't Stop Him, You can Only Hope to Contain Him"
This is how the Jazz  are looking at their matchup against "The Unibrow", Anthony Davis. RIght now, Davis has had the best season of anyone in the NBA and has lifted himself into the elite players in the game. Davis can do it all. He can score, rebound, dish the rock, reject some shots and pick some pockets. He is the reason why the Pelicans are a winning basketball team.

For the season, Davis is averaging 24.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.7 blocks, 2.2 steals, and 2 assists. If there were any player that I would want to start a franchise with, it would be the Unibrow because he's dominants in every facet of the game. That said. Davis is coming off of his worst shooting performance of the season and the Jazz must capitalize on this if they're to have any chance of winning this game.

Off the Mark
The Pelicans have played quite poor on the road and they need their 2nd best player, Tyreke Evans, to pick up his game. Evans is shooting under 40% from the field and averaging just 15.5 points per game. Of course Evans is a multi-faceted player who is averaging 6.5 assists and 6.1 rebounds, but the Pelicans need his offense. In the meanwhile, look for Ryan Anderson to come off of the bench and perform well. Anderson is one of the best 6th man in the league and is very tall at 6 foot 10 and can shoot the lights out.

Look for the Peilcans to attempt to redeem themselves tonight. It will be up to the Jazz to stop them at home.

Building Block
In their last game, Utah was defeated by a very good Golden State Warriors team, but they have to like what they saw out of center Enis Kanter.

Kanter has had his minutes limited but he was the only one to shoot well against a really good team such as the Warriors while he had a tough matchup guarding Andrew Bogut. Kanter was 8 for 10 from the field for 18 points and 5 assists. Utah has plenty of offensive options such as Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors, but if Kanter is playing his best, this could be a playoff team.

The Jazz are just 23rd in the league in points scored and the Pelicans are averaging 103.7 points per game. Utah will need Gordon Hayward to have a huge game because he's the player that gives the Jazz energy and they desperately need it. Hayward is as close to a legitimate scorer and game changer that the Jazz have on their roster.

Outcome
Anthony Davis is unstoppable and for our NBA pick favoring New Orleans, look for a bounce back performance from the Pelicans on the road and with a small betting spread.
