After beating up on some of the bad teams yesterday with our NBA Picks and going 2-0, we look to build upon that momentum as Friday offers a larger slate of games to choose from. Let’s nail it.

Brooklyn Nets (4-2) at Miami Heat (5-2)

Matchup of the Night

Tonight, you get the a preview of what’s to come this season as head coach Jason Kidd leads his Brooklyn Nets into South Beach against the 2-time defending world champion Miami Heat. Of course, this is preseason and you have to look at that way, but nevertheless, both teams want to win to get the mental edge.

The Nets are coming off of a disappointing 101-97 loss to the lowly Boston Celtics. Kidd is trying to get his inexperienced and bench players some playing time and that’s understandable. Will that come into play tonight? If the same starter hit the court for Brooklyn, Miami will cover the spread with ease.

Tyshawn Taylor led the Nets off the bench with 15 points against the Celtics as rookie Mason Plumlee  carried the Nets on the boards with a team high 9 rebounds. Unless I see any key new established acquisitions, I can’t take this team seriously in the preseason.

Just Like It’s Regular Season

Miami is coming off a 108-95 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, handing the Pelicans their first loss of the preseason. Miami had their “Big 3” in the lineup and everyone produced and got playing time.

Lebron James and Dwayne Wade both shot 10 of 17 from the field with James leading the way with 27 points and Wade had 25 points. Chris Bosh contributed with an overall solid performance as he contributed by scoring, distributing the ball well and rebounding. Miami looks like they’re ready to 3-peat; Nets have no chance tonight if their starting lineup stays the same and the NBA odds are very low.

NBA Pick: Miami Heat -4 at Bet 365

Denver Nuggets (2-4) at Chicago Bulls (7-0)

They’re Back

If you’re a Chicago Bulls fan, you have to love the way that the Bulls have looked in the preseason with superstar Derrick Rose in the lineup. The Bulls have plenty of size and with Rose quarterbacking this team, it’s evident that he was the missing ingredient last season.

Smelling Like A Rose

After a 104-95 victory over a tough Oklahoma City Thunder team, Derrick Rose hasn’t missed a beat. In his last 5 preseason games alone, he’s averaging 23.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in an average of 27.6 minutes per game. Rose has also shot over 50% from the field and over 80% from the charity stripe; his recovery has been a complete success and it could spell doom for the Nuggets.

No Gallinari and Faried

With both Danilo Gallinari and Kenneth Faried being sidelined by injuries until the beginning of the regular season, the Nuggets have looked awful. This opinion couldn’t be anymore correct than in their last game, a 98-79 loss to the Phoenix Suns. In this game, Denver’s starters accounted for 43 points while the team shot just 29 of 85 (34.1%) from the field. This kind of play won’t win many games, even against bottom feeders like the Suns. J.J. Hickson and Ty Lawson will have to have better games tonight in order to have any chance for this team to even be competitive against a team as hot as Chicago is. Look for the Bulls to cover the 5.5 points for your NBA pick.
