PGA Tour Future Odds Here

This is an event dating back to 1938 but changed format in 2017 to a team event. The alternate shot format of the foursome is used in rounds one and three while the easier fourball format is used in rounds two and four. These are the same formats used in the Ryder and Presidents Cup and a strong bond between the players can be of the utmost importance.

The scoring has been exceptionally low since the team event was added with twenty-five under being exceeded twice by the winning teams. The TPC Louisiana is a Pete Dye design set in wetlands on Bermuda fairways and greens.

Which Pairs Have the X-Factor Required to Win?

The reigning champions Jon Rahm and Ryan Palmer were an unlikely pairing when they won in 2019 but last year they went out in the final pairing of the Memorial Tournament hosted by Jack Nicklaus. Their camaraderie was evident in the heat of battle as opponents.

Zurich Classic Could Be the Tonic the South African Major Champions Need

Both of South Africa’s major championship winners currently on the PGA Tour, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen are an interesting pairing. Having grown up together through the junior ranks and Sunshine tour we can take it for granted they will know each other’s game well. They have experience from the Presidents Cup and mutual trust from the foursome format played.

That experience was evident when they came third here in 2018 and with both players looking like their games are in good order recently, this week’s event could be perfect timing. In recent seasons both these two South Africans have struggled with winning so this week, the best market look, for Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel is a top 10 finish.

Ryder Cup Partnership of Rose and Stenson Back to Form at Masters

Two major champions from the European Tour, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson are another pairing that catches the eye, given how well both performed at the recent Masters. Englishman, Justin Rose was prominent all week at Augusta National after taking the first round lead and here at the TPC Louisiana for many years when it was a singles event, winning in 2015.

The Swede, Henrik Stenson had appeared badly out of form before an encouraging Masters performance and his confidence should be rising. We know these two will know each other extremely well from their many Ryder Cup’s and that crucial experience of the awkward foursome format will be useful this week. There are more factors in our favor this week when you examine their superb Ryder Cup record that ranks 7th best amongst the European teams of all time.

They have won on six occasions from the eight times they have played together and that is perfectly split 3-1 between foursome and fourball showing their versatility. There is no pair this week who have their level of experience and with both players being proven winners, the look of the win and top 10 market works perfectly for Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson.
