Defending champion Petra Kvitova looks to book her place in 3rd round. Radwanska & Wozniacki amongst several others look to move into as well. Here's a tennis betting preview for all these matches.
Petra Kvitova -2000 vs. Kurumi Nara +800
Defending champion Petra Kvitova is the runaway favourite at -2000 to win her second round match against Kurumi Nara. The World No.2 got off to a brilliant start with a quick and bruising 6-1, 6-0 win over Kiki Bertens that took less than an hour of her day. Certainly, if she brings similar form to her second round encounter, she'll be an almost sure tennis pick to advance.
Kurumi Nara advanced into the second round after her opponent retired in the third set. Nara dropped the first set, but rallied back to win the second. Up 4-3 in the third, Linette threw in the towel, thereby giving Nara a pass into the next round and a date with the defending champion. It's the first match between the diminutive Japanese player that stands 5'1" tall with the 6' Czech. On paper, the Japanese is outclassed in every aspect of the game. This doesn't mean she doesn't stand a chance at all. Kvitova can be inconsistent. However, we expect she'll breeze through without a problem. Our choice tennis pick is Kvitova to win in straight sets at -500 in prop betting markets.
Tennis Picks: Kvitova -500 to win 2-0
Caroline Wozniacki -2000 vs. Denisa Allertova +900
This isn't going to be a straightforward match as the tennis odds maker's would suggest. Caroline Wozniacki is the seeded player and the justifiable favourite, but Denisa Allertova is no wilting flower. She's an up-and-coming player that could give Wozniacki a run for her money in this match. Perhaps, she might not win. Still, she could take a set off the Danish No.1. Wozniacki withdrew from Eastbourne last week with an injury. No sign of which showed up in her 7-5, 6-0 win over Saisai Zheng in the first round. However, in the 5'11" Allertova she'll come up against a better server and bigger hitter off the baseline.
Tennis Picks: Wozniacki to win 2-1 at +400
Aganieszka Radwanska -600 vs. Ajla Tomljanovic +400
Croatia's Ajla Tomljanovic owns the 1-0 head-to-head edge over Agnieszka Radwanska, having beaten the Polish No.1 at the 2014 French Open. Nevertheless, she ranks on the edge of the top 100 at No.81 and comes into this fortnight with a suspect 13-16 record, which includes a 1-3 record on grass. As a result, she's the justifiable +400 long shot tennis pick for the upset in the second round. Particularly, as former Wimbledon runner-up Agnieszka Radwanska appears to have rounded out into form last month. Radwasnka finished runner-up at Eastbourne (l to Bencic) and reached the semis in Nottingham the week prior. Overall, she's 22-15 on the season and 7-2 on grass ahead of Wimbledon. Importantly, in her two warm up events she only dropped three sets.
At Wimbledon, she took out Lucie Hradecka convincingly in her opener, 6-3, 6-2. Momentum that should stand her in good stead as she levels the score with Tomljanovic. Take Radwanska to win in straights at -200 in Wimbledon prop betting.
Tennis Picks: Radwanska -200 to win 2-0
