Coco Vandeweghe (27) vs. Roberta Vinci (6)
We picked Roberta Vinci to give a good fight on her first round match against Alison Riske and the Italian exceeding the expectations with a 6 – 2 5 – 7 6 – 3 triumph. As we mentioned at the time, Roberta can never be underestimated on a Grand Slam event due to her experience. After that first match, Vinci was just too good for the lucky loser Ying-Ying Duan, defeating the Chinese in straight sets and ending the match with very solid numbers: 19 winners and only 7 unforced errors.

Coco Vandeweghe loves to play on grass where her powerful game is even more dangerous. It has been a very good season for Coco on this surface, with the American winning the title in s-Hertogenbosch and reaching the semifinals in Birmingham before this event, where she’s looking for another successful campaign after reaching the quarterfinals last year. Known for her powerful serve, Vandeweghe has been incredibly solid on this competition, winning 94.70% of her service games and firing an average of 0.63 aces per service game.

This will be the third career meeting between these two players, with Vinci winning their first encounter in Monterrey four years ago while Vandeweghe emerged victorious in Auckland last year.

Looking at their two previous meetings, both were extremely close and the same should happen here. Vinci’s backhand slice is always a tricky shot, especially on grass where the ball bounces lower than on other surface. Both players are terrific servers and with that in mind, we are expecting this match to be much closer than the tennis odds suggest. For that reason, our suggestion is for you to place a bet on the Over as the highest value play on this match.

Sabine Lisicki vs. Yaroslava Shvedova

We picked Sabine Lisicki on the previous round and the German matched the expectations with a 6 – 4 6 – 2 triumph over Samantha Stosur. As we mentioned before, Sabine is a completely different player on this event, where she’s a former runner-up. Looking at Lisicki’s numbers on this event, the highlight goes to her massive serve, with the German winning 88.2% of her service games. However, Sabine is not only her serve and during this event, she won 52.9% of the games played on her opponents’ serve.

It has been a very good tournament for Yaroslava Shvedova so far. Despite winning only one of her last 9 matches before this event, Yaroslava clearly raised her level in the All England Club, winning two matches against Julia Goerges and Elina Svitolina. Shvedova loves to compete on this event, where she’s looking for her third career appearance in the 4th round. One of Yaroslava’s main qualities is the ability to play at the net, with the player from Kazakhstan rushing 37 times to the net on her match against Svitolina and winning 59% of those.

These two players know each other well with six prior meetings between them and with each player winning three of those.

Looking at their previous three matches, all of those went to distance with two of them being played on grass. Both are huge experts on this surface and despite Sabine’s favoritism, this might be a very tough contest. A third set might be required to solve this match and Shvedova’s set handicap doesn’t seem a bad option however, due to the quality of these players serve the true value is on the Over. For that reason, our recommendation is for you to add the Over to your tennis picks.
