Defending champion Petra Kvitova looks to advance into the second week of Wimbledon at the expense of Jelena Jankovic. Elsewhere, Radwanska and Lisicki are in action as day 6 of Wimbledon betting wraps up R32 action.
Petra Kvitova -600 vs. Jelena Jankovic +400
Petra Kvitova raced through her first two matches of the tournament in record time and dropping the fewest games of the tournament so far. Crikey, her first match took just half-an-hour plus some change. While her second match, finished under an hour as well. If Kvitova continues at this rate, is there going to be any stopping her? She's the second favourite to win it all at +250 behind Serena Williams on the Wimbleadon futures betting board. Consider she's won two Wimby titles in the last four years and Serena just the one since 2010, Kvitova is a steal tennis pick right now.
Jelena Jankovic is going to be a much tougher opponent to dispatch in the third round. Surely, Kvitova will need at least a full 60 minutes to counter the Serbian counter-puncher. Then again, maybe it won't be as tough. Kvitova has the 4-2 lifetime edge over Jankovic, which includes a 2-0 edge in 2015. Most recently, she beat Jankovic 6-3, 6-2 in Rome (clay). Grass is also Kvitova's best surface. Jankovic can give as good as she gets if Kvitova allows her to settle into the match, but with the Czech donating less than a 100 minutes of her precious time to the first couple of rounds, why is she going to be so charitable now. This could be another blitz.
Tennis Picks: Kvitova in straight sets at -200
Timea Bacsinszky +110 vs. Sabine Lisicki -138
Timea Bacscinszky is coming off a semi-final finish at the French Open, her best run at a major which should send her into the remainder of the season on a wave of confidence. Bacsinszky is up to No.15 in the world, a few ranking spots higher than her next opponent Sabine Lisicki. She also takes a 2-1 head-to-head edge over the German, having beaten her in Rome a few months back. In spite of all these positives, the balance on the tennis odds board tips in favour of Lisicki as the -138 favourite to win outright while the Swiss is trading as the nominal underdog at +110 tennis odds.
That's a lot to do with perception rather than anything tangible such as form. Lisicki is a player that seems to light up when playing at Wimbledon. She's beaten Serena on the luscious lawns of the All England Club and very nearly won the title, only to finish runner-up to Marion Bartoli in 2013. The Swiss No.1 player is up to a high of No. 15.
Tennis Picks: Bacsinszky +109 at BetOnline
Agnieszka Radwanska -800 vs. Casey Dellacqua +500
Poland's No.1 Agnieszka Radwanska takes a 2-0 head-to-head edge over Casey Dellacqua into their third round clash, a record that includes a win at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships R64, 6-4, 6-0, as well as a win this year at the Madrid Open.
Radwanska, a former Wimbledon finalist, has form, which underscores her favourable tennis odds to win outright at -800 tennis pick at bet365. After a standout run in the lead up to Wimbledon, she carries the momentum through the first two rounds with convincing wins over Lucie Hradecka and Ajla Tomljanovic. Radwanska hasn't dropped a set in the first two rounds, not to mention she's dropped just seven games over four sets.
Dellacqua hasn't dropped a set either in the first few rounds of the tournament, but she'll face her stiffest challenge in an in-form Radwanska. It doesn't help her cause that she's never beaten Radwanska. Dellacqua should make this a competitive match, but Radwanska should emerge the winner in straight sets.
Tennis Picks: Radwanska to win 2-0 at -250
