Caroline Wozniacki (1) vs. Angelique Kerber (5)
The two main contenders will fight for a place in semifinals with the 2013 finalist and favorite Angelique Kerber facing the 1st seed and last year runner-up Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki is trying to raise the level after a poor US Open Series and started with a solid match defeating Ana Konjuh 6 – 2 6 – 2 in a match where her counter puncher skills were extremely effective against Konjuh’s powerful groundstrokes.

Kerber is a ferocious competitor with massive defensive skills and an outstanding mindset. The German showed once again all her mental strength in previous round against Madison Brengle where she lost first set 5 – 7 but bounced back with impressive 6 – 1 6 – 0.

The matches between Wozniacki and Kerber are always massive fights and there isn’t much separating the two. Both are huge fighters with great defensive and counter puncher skills which leads always to long rallies and matches.

Kerber is the one with advantage leading h2h 6 – 4 and was the one who emerged victorious in their most recent meeting this year in Stuttgart 3 – 6 6 – 1 7 – 5 however Caroline had good chances to win that match too and that was a clear example of how close the matches are between this pair.

Since the end of 2012 the matches between them have become even closer with the Over 22 being won in 5 of last 6 contests. This one should once again be a pretty close one and we’ll add the value on Over 22 tennis odds to our tennis picks.

Tennis Pick: Over 22 at -101 at Pinnacle.
