Johanna Konta (4) vs. Kirsten Flipkens
It has been a good week so far for our player to keep an eye on, Johanna Konta, with the British no.1 winning her previous two matches, both in straight sets, against Marina Duque-Marino and Yanina Wickmayer. After a terrific first round against Duque-Marino, where Konta won 88.89% of her service games, the 4th seed had a tougher match against Wickmayer but managed to recover twice from a break down in order to emerge victorious in two tie breaks.

Kirsten Flipkens loves to play on faster conditions where her serve and offensive game is more effective. This Monterrey event is played at 1770 ft. (540 m) altitude, which is not a huge elevation but still makes the game conditions faster, as we explained in a previous article. Kirsten has explored very well the game conditions with her serve, winning an average of 88.0% games on serve in her two previous matches against Francesca Schiavone and Alison Van Uytvanck.

This will be the third career meeting between these two players, with Konta leading 2-0 on h2h - both victories in straight sets.

Despite winning the two previous matches between them without dropping a single set, this won’t be such an easy contest for Konta. We believe Johanna will emerge victorious and keep her successful journey in Monterrey, but Kirsten should give a good fight and maybe take this match into a third set. Both are excellent servers and the fast conditions make it even harder for their opponents to break their serve. With this in mind, we believe this will be a long match with few breaks of serve and for that reason, we advise to take advantage of the Over tennis odds by adding it to your tennis picks.
