The action continues with the best players in the world fighting for Miami glory. Join us while we analyze the main contenders, player to keep an eye on & most valuable tennis picks for WTA Miami.

Main Contenders
The eight-time winner and defending champion of the Miami Open, Serena Williams, is still looking for her first trophy in 2016 – after losing at the Australian Open and Indian Wells final. It was far from a good performance from Serena in Indian Wells, with too much history affecting her game, with the American saying that she was extremely nervous on her match against Victoria Azarenka. After losing two finals already, this event is a great opportunity for Serena to regain some dominance and win her first title this year. Williams had a very good draw she shouldn’t experience much problems before the semifinals, where she can face Agnieszka Radwanska or Simona Halep. Due to the terrific draw, past success on this event and strong desire to finally win a title in 2016, we believe there is value on Serena’s tennis odds at 2.50 on Bet365.

We picked Victoria Azarenka as one of the most valuable players to claim the title in Indian Wells and the Belarussian matched the expectations with an outstanding performance at the final. It’s good to see Azarenka returning to her best level, but is also important to mention that her recurrent physical problems might affect her performance in Miami. Victoria is on the bottom half of the draw where she might face dangerous players such as Jelena Jankovic, Garbine Muguruza, Venus Williams or Angelique Kerber. No doubts that Azarenka is currently at a great level and has great chances of reaching another final. However, it’s hard to trust on her to play at the same level in consecutive weeks, especially after her retirement earlier this year in Acapulco, where the Belarussian said that she needs to listen to her body and manage very well her season in order to avoid injuries.

After a slow start of season with several physical issues and early losses, Simona Halep returned to her best level in Indian Wells, losing only against Serena Williams at the quarterfinals. Halep’s best career result in Miami was achieved last year, when the Romanian reached the semifinals before losing once again to Serena. After the level produced by Halep in Indian Wells she’s a serious contender to reach the last stages of this competition, where she might face once again the world no.1 at the semifinals. There are several high quality players on Halep’s quarter such as Agnieszka Radawnska, Sloane Stephens or Ana Ivanovic; however, the 2014 French Open runner-up should overcome any of them to reach the semifinals where Williams should be too stronger for her. With this in mind, Simona to win the 2ndquarter is a valuable bet for this event.

Players to Keep an Eye On
After a tremendous year of 2015, where Belinda Bencic reached for the first time the top 10, the 19 years old Suisse is looking to bounce back after three less achieved tournaments at Dubai, Doha and Indian Wells. Belinda is known for her terrific counter punching skills and for having a tremendous competitive mindset for her age. Belinda has 120 points to defend on this event after reaching the 4th round last year, where she lost against the home player Sloane Stephens. Bencic has a good draw to go far on this event, starting her campaign against a qualifier or the wild card Paula Badosa Gilbert. After this first match, she can face the powerful Sabine Lisicki, but the German has been far from her best and Bencic’s counter punching skills are extremely effective against this kind of player. In the following, the Suisse might face Roberta Vinci and despite this year’s victory from Roberta in St. Petersburg against Bencic, the conditions in Miami are much better for Belinda and the young Suisse should emerge victorious. At the quarterfinals the highest ranked player on Bencic way is this year’s Australian Open champion, Angelique Kerber, yet the Suisse knows how to beat this opponent with a 3 – 0 lead on h2h. Finally, at the semifinals, the toughest player Bencic can face is Victoria Azarenka but as we mentioned, the Belarussian cannot be trusted on this event, which clearly increases Bencic’s chances of reaching the final. Having said that, we believe that there is value on Bencic’s outright odds at 26 on Bet365 and suggest you to add the Suisse to your tennis picks.
