Another day of second round matches at Roland Garros looms on the horizon on the women's front, including Serena Williams in action. Join us as we preview Day 5 on the women's front, what promises to be a stellar day for tennis bettors spotting value tennis picks.

Schiavone +400 vs. Kuznetsova -700
The clash of Former French Open champions could potentially be one of the most hotly contested matches in these early days of French Open betting. The last time this pair met at a majors they served up an epic. At the 2011 Australian Open R16, they went the distance in a three-set marathon that Kuznetsova eventually won 6-4 1-6 16-14. Kuznetsova went on to win their last meeting in Doha that year to improve to 9-5 head-to-head. This will be the first time this pair meets in four years; a long overdue matchup one might say. Based on current form, Kuznetsova has the decided edge: she was the runner-up a few weeks ago in Madrid. She's the deserved favourite at -700 tennis odds to win outright, but this matchup could be closer than the odds makers suggest. Heck, don't be surprised if this match goes down to the wire.

Tennis Picks: Kuznetsova -700

Goerges +400 vs. Wozniacki -600
The clash between Julia Goerges and Caroline Wozniacki is sure to strike an attractive pose on the court as it does on the tennis odds board. As it is, the Danish starlet is the favourite at -600 to win outright, but Germany's Julia Goerges is no wilting flower. She can take it to Wozniacki, more so than the tennis odds would suggest. They have a very close head-to-head that stands at 3-4 with Wozniacki to the good. Where Goerges has the edge is on clay – she won both their meetings on the red stuff. With a 2-0 edge over Wozniacki, she might fancy her chances in Paris despite the hefty +400 tennis odds. All in all, this one is a bit of a tossup. Wozniacki is the better ranked player and has form to underscore her odds this season, but Goerges is just too tempting to ignore for our tennis picks. We're chance-ing her tennis odds.

Tennis Picks: Goerges +400 at bet365

Hradecka +500 vs. Azarenka -800
Victoria Azarenka will look to underscore her favourable odds to win the French Open by booking her spot in the third round. She has a 2-0 edge over Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic, but both meetings were drawn out affairs that went the distance. The Czech is a consummate competitor that won't make it easy on the Belarusian to advance. The recently played in Rome with Azarenka edging the Czech 7-5, 2-6, 6-1. We expect another similar close contest. As such, the value tennis pick here could be a three set win by Azarenka at +300

Tennis Picks: Azarenka to win -800 and in three sets at +300

Pliskova -400 vs. Mitu +275
This will be the first meeting between Pliskova and Mitu when they collide in the R64 at the French Open. Pliskova is a dark horse in this tournament and a player to spot. She won the Prague Open in the lead up to the French Open and boasts a 29-10 record on the season. Andreea Mitu, however, is no slouch on clay and could prove a tougher ask than the odds makers would suggest. She's 19-10 on the season and is quite adept on clay. She picked up a lower level title on the surface and finished runner-up in another clay event this season in South America. She also reached the R16 in Charleston. Pliskova ranks well ahead of the No.100 Mitu and should win outright. But Mitu has nothing to lose and could take this match the distance.

Tennis Picks: Pliskova -400 and in three sets +275

Serena Williams -5000 vs. Anna-Lena Friedsam +1400
Few tennis bettors are going to bet against Serena Williams in this clash, surely. The American star and the best player in the women's game comes into this tournament having lost just one mach all season long, the semis to Petra Kvitova. The most important bit: she already has one grand slam to her credit this season and you can bet she's gunning for her second straight slam in Paris. It's her first meeting against 21-year-old Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany, but that rarely poses a problem. The German ranks outside of the Top 100 in the women's game and arrived in Paris with a 5-12 mark on the season. This should be a routine win for Serena. If you're looking to bet on her, take her to win in straight sets at -800 rather than at -5000 to win outright.

Tennis Picks: Serena -800 to win in straight sets.
