Tuesday's French Open betting action features odds-on-favourite Serena Williams & Petra Kvitova, amongst several others. We've put together our tennis for these ladies amongst others. Check it out.
Andrea Petkovic -333 vs. Shelby Rogers +240
Andrea Petkovic comes into her opening match at the French Open as the decisive -333 tennis odds favourite to win outright, but she's riding a two-match losing streak after falling out of the second round in Madrid and first round in Rome. Both losses were to players ranked considerably below the recently minted No.10 player on the WTA Tour, which is a cause for concern. It certainly should give unheralded Shelby Rogers some room for optimism.
They played once before with the German taking the straight set win over Shelby on clay, but it was a mere difference of a handful of games. Often Petkovic makes things more difficult for herself than they need to be. That titbit suggests this might not be as straightforward as the odds makers would suggest. The American hopeful could be good for a set in this match. As such, we're looking at Petkovic to win this match in three sets, which can be backed at +275 tennis odds.
Tennis Picks: Petkovic three sets at +275
Belinda Bencic -275 vs. Daniela Hantuchova +200
Belinda Bencic and Daniela Hantuchova are tied 1-1 head-to-head with the former winning on hard court and the latter on grass. This will be the first ever meeting on clay between this pair. Bencic has the better ranking, but Hantuchova has the experience and is a former top ten player. When it comes to form this season, Hantuchova is a slightly better 10-10 while Bencic is a subpar 8-12 on the season. However, both players come into the French Open riding losing streaks which suggests neither is going to be particularly confident. All things being relatively equal so between these ladies, this matchup is a tossup in our books. If push comes to shove, perhaps experience trumps youth.
Tennis Picks: Hantuchova +200 at Bovada

Petra Kvitova -1200 vs. Marina Erakovic +650
Petra Kvitova begins her campaign against Marina Erakovic in Paris on Tuesday. The New Zealander is no slouch, however. She might have a losing record against the Czech player that stands at a disheartening 4-0 mark, but all those matches were close contests. That should give her a measure of hope in this first round encounter, despite the considerable tennis odds. Last year, Kvitova beat Erakovic at the French Open 6-4, 6-4 (R64). It marked the second clay court win over Erakovic. Kvitova should win this one again given her current form, which includes winning the Madrid Open after beating Serena Williams. But this could go the distance, so we like the +350 odds on a three set win for Kvitova far better than her outright match odds.
Tennis Picks: Kvitova to win in three sets at +350
Kristina Mladenovic +150 vs. Eugenie Bouchard -200
We're chalking this one in the upset column. Bouchard has built quite the reputation for her grand slam prowess. Loves the limelight she does. But this matchup could be the one that snaps this trend. Kristina Mladenovic is a French hopeful, so she's sure to have the crowd fully behind her. Then there's Bouchard's form, which is nothing to write home about . She's 7-9 on the season, wholly off form and colour. Most concerning for her fans, she's losing to players ranked well below her. Mladenovic is above .500 with an 18-15 record. One really has to like the home favourite in this clash, even if she's the bookies underdog at +150.
Tennis Picks: Mladenovic +150 at 5Dimes
Serena Williams -5000 vs. Andrea Hlavackova +1400
As the tennis odds would suggest, this should be a straightforward clash for Serena Williams. Andrea Hlavackova is a Czech player that is very familiar with clay courts, but against Serena she's a long shot tennis pick. The last time they met, Williams won 6-0, 6-0 at the US Open. Yikes. One fears for the Czech player in this first round match. Best bet here is to skip the outright win markets – at -5000 Serena's odds offer very little return for your investment. Better to go with a straight set win at -800. Still pricey, but one that is most likely to pay out you'd think.
Tennis Picks: Serena Williams in straight sets at -800
