WTA Finals Singapore – Round Robin Analysis

The WTA Finals takes place in Singapore with Indoor Hard Court as the chosen surface.

When compared to the other tournaments throughout the year, the WTA Finals presents a unique format with a group stage known as Round Robin.

On this first stage the players compete in two groups – Red and White.

Red Group – Angelique Kerber; Simona Halep; Madison Keys; Dominika Cibulkova

White Group – Agnieszka Radwanska; Karolina Pliskova; Garbine Muguruza; Svetlana Kuznetsova

Red Group

After winning two Grand Slam trophies and securing the leadership on the WTA ranking, Kerber is looking to end the year with another massive accomplishment. However, it won’t be easy for the German to present herself at 100% after such a demanding year. After failing to reach the semifinals in all her previous three apperances on Singapore, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Angelique losing once again in the Group stage. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to avoid placing any bet on Kerber’s price to win the Red Group at +188 at Coral.

The 2014 WTA Finals runner-up – Simona Halep – is once again one of the main favorites to lift the trophy in Singapore. After a slow start of season, Halep clearly raised her level in recent months with an extraordinary 84.00% winning record since Wimbledon.
Looking now to Simona’s group in Singapore, the Romanian starts her campaign against Madison Keys. Despite Madison’s tremendous firepower, Halep is a terrible match-up for the American due to her outstanding counter punching skills.
As we mentioned before, Kerber might not present herself at 100% on this event, which clearly increases Halep’s chances of reaching the next stage. Besides these two players, Dominika Cibulkova is also on the Red Group. These two players know each other well and although Cibulkova’s 3 – 2 lead on the h2h, Halep won their last encounter earlier this year in Madrid by 6 – 2 6 – 4. With this in mind, we recommend you to add Simona to your betting picks to win the Red Group at +188 at Coral.

White Group

Playing in Singapore brings great memories to Radwanska with the 2015 WTA Finals champion looking for another successful run. Besides her triumph in 2015, Agnieszka also reached the semifinals in 2012 and 2014. Radwanska is the main favorite to win the White Group and although we agree with the sportsbooks analysis, this won’t be an easy journey for the Polish. Looking now to the other players on her group, Kuznetsova is by far the worst match-up on this group with an overwhelming 12 – 4 lead on the h2h against Radwanska. The Russian reaches this event after a superb campaign in Moscow and even though she might experience some fatigue, her confidence levels are currently sky-high. With this in mind, it’s hard for us to trust on Agnieszka to win the group at +160 at Bet365. On the other hand, Bet365 presents an incredible value on Kuznetsova’s betting odds to win this group at +1000, something that clearly deserves a small wager.

After reaching the US Open final, Karolina Pliskova is now making her debut on this WTA Finals. Known for her incredible serve, Pliskova is always a fearful opponent on these game conditions. However, Radwanska is a terrible match-up for the Czech with a 6 – 0 lead on the h2h and for that reason, it’s impossible for us to place a bet on Karolina to win the White Group at +300 at Coral.
