Join us for our daily coverage of the WTA Finals Singapore tournament. Find out our top tennis picks for Thursday (early-morning matches in USA) and why you should place these two valuable bets.

Karolina Pliskova (3) vs. Jelena Ostapenko (7)

Pliskova continues her sensational run in Singapore. Regardless of Thursday’s outcome, the 25-year-old already has secured a first appearance in the semifinals. The former world No. 1 posted an emphatic win over Garbine Muguruza in the previous round. Besides ending the match with an impressive 1.88 winners/unforced errors ratio, Pliskova won 54.35% of the points played on Muguruza’s serve.

Ostapenko is the youngest player to qualify for the WTA Finals since Caroline Wozniacki in 2010. Despite her undeniable quality, the 20-year-old failed to play her best tennis in her previous two matches in Singapore. For that reason, Ostapenko is already eliminated from this tournament. Nevertheless, the WTA distributes 250 points for the winner of each match in the Round Robin stage. Plus, one match at this stage represents a prize money of $153,000.

This will be the 3rd career meeting between these two players with Pliskova leading 2-0.

As the h2h suggests, Karolina is far from an easy matchup for the Latvian. On the other hand, the low bouncing conditions in Singapore should benefit the Czech on this match. However, it’s impossible to get involved in her current tennis betting odds to win the match at -250 at Bet365. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to place a bet on Pliskova’s set handicap.

Garbine Muguruza (2) vs. Venus Williams (5)

As we predicted in our WTA Finals Singapore Day 3 analysis, Williams proved too strong for Ostapenko. The 37-year-old Williams is the third-oldest player in tennis history to compete at the year-end tournament in Singapore. Despite her victory over Ostapenko, it won’t be easy for the 2008 champion to perform at her best Thursday after spending more than three hours on court against the Latvian. Williams was also far from impressive with Ostapenko winning 49.60% of the points on the American’s serve.

Muguruza hopes to rediscover top form after a disappointing performance against Pliskova. Known as a big-match player, Muguruza is famous for playing her best tennis on the big matches with a 73.33% career record in majors. The two-time Grand Slam champion also seems fully recovered from the virus that forced her to retire from the China Open a few weeks ago.

This should be an exciting contest between two of the most aggressive players in the game. Despite Venus’ 3-2 lead on the h2h, Muguruza proved too strong for the American earlier this season in Rome and Wimbledon. Adding to this, the slower court conditions in Singapore should benefit Garbine in this matchup. Our recommendation is for you to add Muguruza’s spread to your betting picks as the best approach for this match.
