Karolina Pliskova (3) vs. Venus Williams (5)

Venus Williams returns to the WTA Finals for the first time since 2009. At the age of 37, Venus is the third oldest player to qualify for this event after Billie Jean King in 1983 and Martina Navratilova in 1994. Playing on the big stages brings the best out of Williams with the 7-time Grand Slam champion winning 83.33% of the matches on majors in 2017. Adding to this, Venus is also the only former WTA Finals winner playing in Singapore this year after her successful run in the 2008 edition.

As we mentioned in our tournament analysis, Karolina Pliskova is looking for an unprecedented appearance on the following stage in Singapore after a disappointing campaign in 2016. Despite her lack of success on the Asian Swing, the world no.3 can never be underestimated. Known as one of the best servers in the game, Pliskova is the WTA ace leader with 438 perfect serves so far this season. On the other hand, the 25-year-old only allowed her opponents to win 20.20% of her service games throughout 2017.

This will be the 3rd career meeting between these two players with Venus winning their first encounter at the 2015 WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai while Pliskova got her revenge one year after at the US Open.

Despite the balance on the h2h, it won’t be easy for Venus to overcome such a great server as Pliskova on these fast court conditions. On the other hand, the American only won 40.00% of the matches played against top-10 opponents since 2016. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to take advantage of the value on Pliskova’s tennis betting odds by placing a bet on the Czech’s moneyline on this match.

Garbine Muguruza (2) vs. Jelena Ostapenko (7)

Garbine Muguruza hopes to rediscover top form in Singapore after a disappointing Asian Swing. In addition to her poor 57.14% winning record since the US Open, the two-time Grand Slam champion was forced to retire from the China Open in Beijing with a virus. Taking a look now at Garbine’s previous appearances in Singapore, the two-time Grand Slam champion is trying to reach the semifinals for the second time in her career.

Against all expectations, Jelena Ostapenko became the first Latvian to reach the BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore. Adding to this, the former junior world no.1 is also the youngest player to secure a place on this event since Caroline Wozniacki in 2010. At the age of 20, Ostapenko is going through the best moment in her short career with an incredible 49 – 19 record in 2017.

These two players are no strangers with Muguruza winning two of their previous three meetings on the WTA Tour.

Despite Garbine’s lead on the h2h, Ostapenko proved too strong for the Spaniard on their most recent encounter at the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open. On the other hand, 66.67% of their previous meetings went the distance with a third set required to find the winner. Having said that, our recommendation is for you to add the Over to your betting picks as the most valuable line for this contest.
