Despite not being as good on serve as she was in previous rounds, the world no.1 overplayed the young Russian with her powerful groundstrokes. Serena played with a very aggressive mindset, winning 12 out of 16 points at the net.

With a career-high of 21 aces, Maria Sharapova booked a place into Australian Open quarterfinals. The Russian struggled to find her first serve, placing only 47%, but that was also result of her aggressiveness on first serve, winning 85% of points with it. From the baseline Sharapova was not as consistent as she was in previous matches, with 32 winners / 38 unforced errors, but still found a way to get the victory against a very tough opponent like Belinda Bencic.

These two players will face each other for the 21st time, with Serena leading 18 – 2 on h2h. Sharapova’s last victory was achieved in 2004, winning only three sets in the following 17 losses.

No doubts that Serena is the undeniable favorite for this match, but Maria is always a tough challenge for her. They played last year at the Australian Open final, where Serena won in two close sets by 6 – 3 7 – 6. Sharapova has been serving at very good level this week, firing an average of 1.27 aces per service game, but she’ll have to place at least 55% to have some chances, otherwise Williams will punish her second serve. Serena’s mental edge over Sharapova seems too much for the Russian to handle, especially on pressure points. Once again, we might witness a mental war between the two, with Serena emerging victorious at the end. We believe the American can get the job done in straight sets, but at least one should be very close, with a tie break being required to solve it. For that reason, we suggest a split between Serena’s set handicap and the Over.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2969794, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":3, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
Free Tennis Pick: Serena Williams -1.5 Set Handicap (-125) & Over 21.0 (-105)
Best Line Offered: at Pinnacle

Agnieszka Radwanska (4) vs Carla Suarez Navarro (10)
It was far from an easy match for Agnieszka Radwanska, the Polish lost the first set and was 2 – 5 down on the third set, but managed to bounce back for a 7 – 5 victory while Anna-Lena Friedsam struggled with cramps. Radwanska will be looking for her second career appearance on Australian Open semifinals, after reaching that stage of the competition in 2014.

Carla Suarez Navarro also had to fight hard to emerge victorious on her match against Daria Gavrilova, the Spaniard lost the first set 0 – 6, but managed to win that match where Gavrilova clearly struggled mentally on the biggest match of her career. Carla received a medical timeout on her knee and said she’s feeling pain when she has to run, but Gavrilova was too erratic to take advantage of that.

Carla won the previous match at Miami last year, but Radwanska leads 3 – 1 on h2h. Is also important to mention, that Radwanska was far from her best on that match in Miami, while Suarez Navarro was playing the tennis of her life.

Radwanska struggles against aggressive players who attack her second serve, however Suarez Navarro is not a very power player and can’t create much problems on the return. Adding to this, Agnieszka is playing outstanding tennis and she’ll explore Carla’s knee problem, forcing the Spaniard to play long points and move a lot. This should be the end of the line for Suarez Navarro and we suggest to take advantage of Agnieszka’s tennis odds by adding the Polish spread and set handicap to your tennis picks.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2969844, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]
Free Tennis Pick: Agnieszka Radwanska -1.5 Set Handicap (-109) & Agnieszka Radwanska -4.5 (-114)
Best Line Offered: at Heritage
