Serena Williams (1) vs Daria Kasatkina
After a tough debut against Camila Giorgi, Serena Williams had no problems in her second round match against Su-Wei Hsieh, dismissing her opponent by 6 – 1 6 – 2. The American kept her good level on serve, ending the match with 7 aces and 85% 1st serve points won. Despite winning by such a large margin, Serena is still trying to find her best tennis.

The former French Open junior champion, Daria Kasatkina, reaches the third round of a Grand Slam event for the second time on her career, after achieving that stage at the US Open in 2015. Daria is an extremely talented player, with her forehand as her main weapon, however the Russian likes to mix things up with a tricky backhand slice and drop shots.

This will be Kasatkina’s second career match against a top 10 opponent and she’ll be looking for another upset, after surprising Venus Williams earlier this year in Auckland. The spread for Serena is at -7.0 (-109) on Pinnacle, but won’t be easy for her to cover this time. Kasatkina has a good mindset to play this kind of matches and should give a good fight to Williams. For this reasons, we’ll avoid her spread on this match.

Lauren Davis vs Maria Sharapova (5)
With another convincing performance, Maria Sharapova booked a place into the third round. Maria’s serve was not so accurate this time, ending the match with 56% first serve in and 62% points won on serve, yet her return to serve was outstanding with the Russian winning 67% points on return.

Despite not winning a single match on a main draw event since the US Open last year, Lauren Davis seemed to have found her best tennis on this Australian Open. After an outstanding comeback in the first round against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, the American reached the third round after Magdalena Rybarikova’s retirement. Lauren is a very tough competitor with her tremendous footwork, which allow her to hit the ball very early.

The spread for this match is once again at -7.5 (+100) on Pinnacle. We advised to add Sharapova’s spread to your tennis picks on the previous two round, but this time is hard to find value. The American can be a very tough opponent, with her aggressive baseline game and counter punching skills as her main weapon. Maria usually plays well against this kind of players, however Davis can produce a great level of tennis and for that reason we suggest to skip Sharapova’s spread this time.

Agnieszka Radwanska (4) vs Monica Puig
With a very consistent performance, Agnieszka Radwanska defeated Eugenie Bouchard in straight sets. Agnieszka’s baseline consistency and mental strength on pressure point where the key to her success, with the Polish converting 4 of 4 break points and saving 6 of 7. Radwanska said she was very pleased with the victory and the way she performed on this tough match.

Last week’s Sydney finalist, Monica Puig, was very close from elimination against Kristyna Pliskova, with the Puerto Rican winning by 4 – 6 7 – 6 9 – 7 after saving 5 match points. It was a very positive match, with both players ending with great numbers and just 4 breaks of serve in 38 service games.

This will be a very interesting match-up between a super aggressive player and one of the best counter punchers in the game. Radwanska has just been outstanding in previous months and will be hard for Monica to keep a consistent level against such a solid player. Agnieszka’s spread is at -6.0 (-114) on Pinnacle and this seems a good line for the Polish. Puig already played 10 matches in less than two weeks and it will be hard to perform at her best after such an emotional victory over Pliskova. With this in mind, we suggest to take advantage of Agnieszka’s spread tennis odds value.
