Join us and find out our two top betting selections for the WTA Australian Open Day 10. We'll provide a detailed analysis, explaining why you should grab these two valuable tennis picks.

Victoria Azarenka (14) vs. Angelique Kerber (7)
With another straight sets victory, Victoria Azarenka defeated Barbora Zahlavova Strycova. This was Azarenka’s toughest match in 2016, losing six games, but the Belarussian is just at an outstanding level, ending the match with 72% points won on serve. Azarenka’s consistency and mental focus throughout the match were the key for her success, with the former world no.1 maintaining a solid level against such a tricky opponent.

For the first time on her career, Angelique Kerber reaches the Australian Open quarterfinals. Despite winning by 6 – 4 6 – 0 against Annika Beck, it was far from a good performance by Kerber. Angelique struggled with some pain on her right leg, which affected her serve, ending the match with 72.09 mph (116 km/h) average 2nd serve speed – while her average 2nd serve speed on previous rounds was 76.23 mph (122.67 km/h).

Azarenka leads 6 – 1 on h2h, with their most recent match played at Brisbane this year, where Victoria destroyed Kerber by 6 – 3 6 – 1.

With Azarenka performing at such high level and after seeing Kerber’s problems on serve, is quite unlikely to see the German creating problems to the two-time Australian Open champion. The Belarussian should be too good from the baseline, exploring Angelique’s weak second serve with her outstanding return skills. With this in mind, we suggest to add Azarenka’s spread and set handicap to your tennis picks.

Johanna Konta vs. Shuai Zhang (q)
Johanna Konta became the first British woman in 32 years to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam after an epic victory over Ekaterina Makarova. Konta needed three hours to claim the victory, fighting from a set down to defeat the Russian by 8 – 6 on the decisive set. Konta was extremely solid from the baseline, ending the match with 37 winners / 43 unforced errors while Makarova made 34 winners / 60 unforced errors.

It has been a dream run for Shuai Zhang, with the Chinese qualifier reaching the quarterfinals after recovering from a set down against Madison Keys. Zhang is a terrific baseliner, with solid and powerful groundstrokes, especially the forehand. So far on this event, Shuai defeated very tough players like Simona Halep, Alize Cornet, Varvara Lepchenko and Keys, losing only one set to the American. Zhang said it has been a demanding week, but she’s ready for the next challenge.

They played twice in the past, with each player winning one match, Konta in 2012 at the US Open and Zhang in 2013 at WTA Guangzhou. Both have improved since then and are currently in the best shape of their career.

This will be the biggest match of their career and won’t be easy for them to handle the moment. They know each other well, not only they faced couple of times but they also train together sometimes. This should be a good battle and is unlikely to see any of them emerging victorious in two easy sets. With this in mind, we advise to grab the Over tennis odds value for this contest.
