Bovada has taken former Vice President Joe Biden's humorous push-up challenge to Donald Trump and imagined a "Presidential Combine" with surprising odds.

Former Vice President Joe Biden is ready to go Jack Palance on President Donald Trump.

We can hear you from here, “Uh, who in the heck is Jack Palance?”

Palance was longtime actor (now dead), who often exemplified evil on film portraying hated villains in 1950s melodramas and Westerns. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor near the end of his career for the American Western comedy “City Slickers,” starring Billy Crystal.

In that movie, he parodied his evil roles playing trail boss Curly, who despite his touch exterior reveals himself to be a wise and heartfelt man.

When the 73-year-old took the stage to accept his Oscar in 1992, he opened his thank yous with “Billy Crystal, I crap bigger than him.”

He then spoke about the physical expectations of a film and debate whether to hire a younger actor. And then Palance stepped out from behind the podium and demonstrated his ability to do several one-armed push ups, as the crowd roared.

[/]{"component":"video", "type":"youtube", "url":"https://www.youtube.com/embed/AGxL5AFzzMY", "videoSize":"Large" }[/]

The Palance fitness routine became a running joke for Oscar host Crystal who commented during the show: “Jack Palance is backstage on the Stairmaster”; "Jack Palance just bungee-jumped off the Hollywood sign."

That’s a long but entertaining story to tell you than in an interview with “Morning Joe” co-anchor Mika Brzezinski, Biden was asked what he would do if Trump challenged his mental or physical fitness during a debate.

The contender for Democratic nominee for president responded: "I'd say, 'Come on Donald. Come on man. How many push-ups you want to do here, pal? You know, I mean jokingly. You know, come on run with me man."

That reply was actually at the end of a lengthy response where Biden was asked how he’d deal with an opponent “who didn’t play fair,” after his seeming poor answer to Sen. Kamala Harris’s criticism during the first Democratic debate.

Biden thoughtfully said: "I realize that some have concluded that because I didn't respond very tough back to her, that how can I take on Trump? I've never had any trouble taking on anyone from Trump to Putin to Xi Jinping or anybody else.”

"I'm used to bullies."

Oddsmakers at Bovada, of course, have seized on this challenge between the 70-somethings with bets alluding to an imaginary “Presidential Combine,” similar to the NFL Scouting Combine, a week-long showcase in February where college players perform physical and mental tests for NFL coaches, general managers and scouts.

In a fanciful contest, the competitions mentioned are the 225-pound bench press, 40-yard dash, longest vertical jump, and fastest 100 pushups.

For the record, Trump is 73 and Biden is 76, which we guess is why the president is given the better odds in three out of four contests. Uh, OK. If you’re bettor in the comp, please take a hard look at the competitors and their habits is what we recommend.

And let’s face it, there is a better chance of 1 million people storming Area 51 and finding an alien than this Presidential Combine actually occurring. But you never know and we’d sure like to see it.

Presidential Combine - Who Would Complete More Repetitions Of The 225 Lb.
