The Round of 16 begins with Brazil playing Chile and Colombia taking on Uruguay. Which two teams will book their spots into the quarter-finals and where can we locate the best soccer betting value for today's action?

Brazil vs. Chile
The Brazilians remain the top favorite to win the World Cup in front of their passionate fan-base, despite the fact they haven't been putting on the best of performances so far.

OK, so going undefeated is good and all, but from the overall favorites we expect some dominant displays. The score-lines flatter Brazil, as they were lucky to beat Croatia 3-1 and then took advantage of a down-and-out Cameroon side in the last group stage match.

Still, their efforts were enough to earn the top seed out of Group A, which matches them up with the second-place team from Group B in Chile. The soccer betting odds board shows the Brazilians favored in a range from -185 to -210, with the Chileans available for action at +550.

Group B couldn't have gotten off to a better start for Chile. They overcame Australia 3-1 and then pulled off one of the best results of the entire tournament: a convincing 2-0 victory over Spain. Days later the Chileans couldn't cope with Netherlands in a 2-0 loss, meaning they had to settle for the second seed and a date with the hosts in the Round of 16.

Chile will fancy their chances of pulling off the upset. They've played some good soccer in this tournament and have had some great crowd support themselves, and it's not like Brazil has been rampant.

We're going to stay away from picking a side though and will instead recommend the 'over.'

We expect an open game with plenty of goalscoring opportunities. Neymar has been in fine form and could very well add to his tally, while the pairing of Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas has been lethal for Chile. Take the 'over' with your sports picks.

Colombia vs. Uruguay
With a spot in the quarter-finals up for grabs, Colombia and Uruguay put it all on the line today. Oddsmakers have the Colombians favored at just over even money, with the Uruguayans installed at +300.

Group C was wide open and there for the taking and boy did Colombia show up to play. They won all three of their matches, topping Greece (3-0), Ivory Coast (2-1) and Japan (4-1) to easily win the group.

James Rodriguez, Teofilo Gutierrez, Juan Cuadrado and Jackson Martinez have all scored multiple goals in the tournament so far, showcasing just how much attacking quality this Colombia outfit possesses. Now they'll look to make life difficult on Uruguay's shaky back-line.

Almost all of the attention has been on Luis Suarez's lengthy ban and for good reason. But he's really let his teammates (and his country) down here. Without him out on the pitch, Uruguay has looked a shell of themselves and they would have loved to have him out there against Colombia.

All in all, we're finding it very difficult to trust Uruguay here, especially without Suarez working his magic. As we saw in their loss to Costa Rica, the Uruguayans have mostly been toothless without their star striker, so we're interested to see if anyone else (perhaps Diego Forlan?) steps up to fill the void.

With our soccer picks, however, we're not going to over-think this one. We'll back the better overall team and take the favorites to secure the victory.

Colombia has looked strong in the World Cup thus far – Rodriguez and Cuadrado have stood out in a big way – and they're going to have a ton of support behind them today. We believe they'll knock Uruguay out and advance on to the last eight.

Free World Cup Pick: Colombia +105
