The daunting Group G, with Ghana, Portugal, Germany and the USA playing one another finishes off today, and we'll also close out with Group F. Which two soccer betting picks stand out above the rest?

Portugal vs. Ghana
Non-biased observers have to feel for Ghana. They haven't played particularly poorly yet here they stand with little chance of progression into the knockout stages.

Conversely, Portugal deserves to be where they are: last place in the group. The Portuguese have struggled to play together (and for each other) and have relied far too much on individual skill in the tournament.

Both sides have a tiny chance to still advance, but will obviously each need wins with the Germans and Americans holding the edge in Group G right now.

The soccer betting lines show Portugal as a firm favorite. They're trading in the -115 to -125 range to get the outright win, with Ghana checking in as a wide-ranging underdog from +240 all the way up to +275 at some sportsbooks. A draw, which wouldn't be good for either side here, is listed just above +350.

In terms of injury news, the Portuguese will be without Fabio Coentra and Hugo Almeida and Helder Postiga are both doubtful. That being said, Pepe is now eligible to return from suspension. For Ghana, both Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been sent home for disciplinary reasons, though Muntrai was ineligible anyway due to receiving two yellow cards. Daniel Opare is also out.

Even with those guys out, we like what we've seen from the Ghanians in large chunks of their first two matches. They've got some real quality, especially in attack where the Portuguese have looked vulnerable.

We're not too sure why the odds are as lopsided as they are. Portugal has the best player on the pitch, but Ghana has looked very good at times in this tournament and we like them to get at least a point out of their final match.

World Cup Pick: Ghana +0.5 (+109)

Russia vs. Algeria
Everything is still wide open in Group H, making Russia's battle with Algeria all the more important.

The Algerians are in second place with three points and even a draw out of this final match with Russia would most likely be enough to see them through. The Russians have only one point to their name and need a win to have any chance at all.

As you can see, tensions will be high for this evening's game. What kind of soccer odds are on offer? Russia enters as the +100 favorite, with an Algeria win priced at +280 and a draw quoted at +275.

You'd have to say momentum is more on the Algerians' side, as they just whooped up on South Korea 4-2 the other day. Slimani, Halliche, Djabou and Brahimi scored the goals, with the first three coming in a 11-minute span in the first half. It was all over after that goalscoring explosion.

As for today, again we are a little surprised to see these types of lines available at the sportsbooks. We understand Russia has looked disciplined at the back and did indeed make life difficult on both Belgium and South Korea, but Algeria has been far from a fluke in this tournament so far.

Watch the Algerians and you'll see a team that has the flair and determination to make life difficult on any opponent. They approach attacking situations differently than most and that could cause the Russians problems.

We expect another good showing from the underdogs today, so we have no issues with going right back to Algeria with our sports picks.

World Cup Pick: Algeria +0.5 (-111)
